St. Michael’s Capital Campaign for our Building Fund

Thank you to everyone who already made a dona-tion or pledge. We have received $209,189.00 so far. Our goal is to raise $250,000.00. The Monthly Orange Building Fund Envelopes also go into this campaign. We are getting closer to our goal! Please turn in your pledge card if you have not already done so.

Contribution Envelopes for 2016 are

located in the glass hallway. To insure proper credit, please do not use prior year envelopes. Please discard any left over envelopes you may have from prior years.

CHILDREN’S ENVELOPES—NEW TRADITION…. Starting on Christmas, St. Michael’s is beginning a new tra-dition for the children to bring forward their own offering during the collection. There will be a collection basket placed in front of the Altar for children to place their enve-lopes, cash or coins. Box sets of Children’s Envelopes are in the glass hallway.

For 2015 charitable deductions and tax credits, the IRS has ruled that charitable gifts are deductible only in the year the organization received the donation. To be con-sidered a charitable donation for 2015, gifts may be dropped off at the parish office no later than Thursday, December 31. Mailed contributions must have a Dec. 31, 2015 postmark.

There are poinsettia plants in the hallway for the

homebound of the parish. Please check to see if there is a plant for a relative, friend or neighbor that you could deliv-er a little Christmas cheer to.

Church Chuckle It was the day after Christmas at a

church in San Francisco. The pastor of the church was looking over the cradle when he noticed that the baby Jesus was missing from among the figures. Immediately he turned and went outside and saw a little boy with a red wagon, and in the wagon was the figure of the little infant, Jesus. So he walked up to the boy and said, "Well, where did you get Him, my fine friend?" The little boy replied, "I got him from the church." "And why did you take him?" The boy said, "Well, about a week before Christmas I prayed to the little Lord Jesus and I told him if he would bring me a red wagon for Christmas I would give him a ride around the block in it."
