Stewardship Note: On this day we thank God for His Son, Jesus, who died and rose for us. We celebrate and sing Alleluia. Let’s try to keep the joy of this Easter season in our hearts throughout the year! Pray daily and listen for how He is calling each of us to joyfully use our gifts to fulfill His salvation plan.

Many times worries and disappointment over the immediate events of life cause us distraction. When that happens, do not for-get Christ’s promises. Do not forget history’s greatest event, Christ’s resurrection. The women’s worry about the stone proved to be a trifle. God would move the stone. When the angel told the women that Christ’s promise

was fulfilled, they were overjoyed. The women’s worry and the disciples’ disappointments were utterly dispelled by the joy of the Resurrection. May we live in the light of Easter—full of hope and anticipation. May we never let our worries or disappointments distract us from the realization that God’s love provides us with the means to overcome every fear and to live in the confidence that God’s promises will exceed our most fervent hopes.

With every prayerful wish for a joyous Easter, Bishop R. McManus

This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad (Psalm 118:24). Let us re-member that these words of today’s responsorial psalm are not only sung from the hearts of those gathered in our parish. They are also sung by the poor in tiny barrios throughout Cen-tral and South America. They are sung by those denied religious freedom in our world. These Christians lift their voices in clandestine places of worship. These words are sung by people who have lost loved ones to acts of terrorism, violence, and war around the globe. Even in the midst of conflict and division, Christians still come together to declare that pov-erty, loneliness, violence, and division will never, ever have as much power as the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Indeed, Let us rejoice and be glad!

Together with Father Gregory we wish you a joyful, happy, and blessed Easter Sunday. ~~Monsignor Anthony Czarnecki

Please Note!

In observance of Easter Monday, a diocesan holiday, our Rectory will be closed.

DEVOTION AND NOVENA TO ST. JOSEPH During this joyful Easter Week of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we will have the opportunity to participate in the Mass and Novena to St. Joseph at our Basilica at 7pm on Wednesday, April 4. Every Catholic, besides the regular participation in Sunday Mass, should develop a habit of joining other devotional practices such as novenas to St. Joseph, Rosary Devotions, etc. Devotion to

our Patron is a very powerful prayer to obtain needed blessings. We look forward to our Lectors carrying our Patron’s statue into the sanctuary on Wednesday.

LAND FOR SALE In 1935, a parishioner by the name of Joseph E. Simcusky willed land on Old Worcester Road to St. Joseph Parish without any restrictions. Part of this land was used for our cemetery. Some of this land lies vacant and idle next to Webster Sheet Metal on Old Worcester Road. About 7.5 acres of this land is going to be sold to pay the school and parish debt to the diocese as well as to finance some parish and school improvements such as a new sound system and our school’s heating changeover from oil to gas heat. The land is located next to Webster Sheet Metal and the first entrance to St. Joseph Garden of Peace. As our cemetery has ample acreage for many generations to come, we are initially offering this land sale to our parishioners. Please contact the rectory if you are interested. (508) 943-0467.

We are pleased that many former students celebrate the Easter Solem-nity with their families here at our Ba-silica. I believe that your success and your values acquired here at St. Jo-

seph School along with your excellent education will moti-vate you to support your Alma Mater so that others may also follow in your footsteps. We thank our parishioners, alumni, and friends for their prayers, generosity, and genuine concern for St. Joseph School. May God Bless You and Your Family!

NOVENA TO DIVINE MERCY Mercy Sunday is April 8th and is associated with a nine-day Novena which begins at our Basilica on Good Friday during devotional services at the Holy Sepulchre. Divine Mercy is at the heart of the Gospel message of Jesus Christ and it is a central theme of God’s revelation to humanity. God’s merciful love is a source of hope to the world and to every human being. We encourage you to come to church every day and to be a part of the novena prayer after each mass. We will conclude the prayer for Divine Mercy on Sunday, April 8, at 3:00pm. May we all experience God’s merciful love in our daily pilgrimage to eternal destiny.

FIRST FRIDAY First Friday Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will take place after the 7:00am Mass on April 6 and will continue throughout the day concluding at 3:00pm with the Chaplet of Divine Mercy followed by Benediction. Adorers are asked to attend at their scheduled time. Mass will also be celebrated at 7:00pm in the Polish language. All members of the Sacred Heart Society are invited to join us at the 7:00am Mass which is designated for the deceased members of the Society.

STUDENT SAFETY Over the last several weeks we watched students and teachers demanding changes of gun control laws and safety policies for our schools. It is encouraging that the students and teachers are caring enough to sacrifice their time and effort to challenge the status quo. On the other hand, the students are part of our society and reflect its mental health. Whenever someone makes a decision to be violent, their decision is based on values and principles they acquired from home, schools, or society. In our society 8.3% of the people suffer from mental disorders. About 3.2%, especially among young people, indicates severe psychological distress called SPD. In that situation the mental health of society leaves a lot to be wished for. Catholic schools address the material, psychological, and social components of students which influences a person’s character guiding their actions and behaviors while maintaining their healthy well-being beyond their formative years. Catholic schools recognize that life is a gift from God which has to be cherished and secure. This is the solid base to form healthy individuals who live happy and fulfilling lives. Do you think that enacting additional laws would stop the current violence? The value of a Catholic school education cannot be stressed enough in today’s society.

Zmartwychwstanie Pańskie to największe wydarzenie w historii chrześcijaństwa. Ewangelia pierwszego dnia o świcie, prowadzi nas do grobu Pana. Maria Magdalena, Szymon Piotr i Jan

Ewangelista. Trzy osoby szukające Pana. Każda z tych osób ma swoje własne, doświadczenie pustego grobu. Jan, umiłowany uczeń jako ostatni wszedł do grobu. Ujrzał i uwierzył! Każdy, kto wejdzie na drogę umiłowanego ucznia Pana z pustego grobu będzie czerpać radość i nadzieję, bo Ten, któremu przebito włócznią bok - żyje! Wracają jak echo słowa Jezusa wypowiedziane do Marty: „Ja Jestem zmartwychwstanie i życie. Wierzysz w to?”

charakteru i osobowości według uniwersalnych zasad antropologii katolickiej to najlepsze czego mogą pragnąć troskliwi rodzice.

ZIEMIA NA SPRZEDAŻ W roku 1935 parafianin, Józef E. Simcusky przekazał parafii św. Józefa działkę przy Old Worcester Road.

Bóg odsunął go. Obyśmy żyli w świetle Wielkanocy - pełni nadziei i oczekiwania. Obyśmy nigdy nie pozwolili, aby nasze zmartwienia i rozczarowania odciągnęły nas od zrozumienia, że Boża miłość zapewnia nam środki do przezwyciężenia każdego lęku i do życia w przekonaniu, że Boskie obietnice przekroczą nasze najgorętsze nadzieje. Z modlitewnym życzeniem radosnej Wielkanocy, biskup Robert McManus

NOWENNA DO ŚW. JÓZEFA Zapraszamy parafian i przyjaciół do udziału wraz z Lektorami w Nowennie do św.

PIELGRZYMKA DO MEKSYKU Parafia Matki Bożej Częstochowskiej w Worcester zaprosiła nas do współorganizowania i udziałuw pielgrzymce do Sanktuarium Matki Bożej z Guadalupe i Meksyku. Pielgrzymka odbędzie się w dniach 3 – 13 grudnia 2018. Pielgrzymka będzie polskojęzyczna. Cena biletu: $1900 od osoby. Bardziej szczegółowe informacje o trasie przejazdu

i odwiedzanych miejscach już wkrótce. Osoby zainteresowane prosimy o kontakt z księdzem Grzegorzem lub z biurem parafii Matki Bożej Częstochowskiej w Worcester.
