Transcript of Royse City Chamber of Commerce Monthly Newsletter
Celebrating our Chamberby Julia Bryant
On May 19 we will have the opportunity once again to
recognize those people and businesses who have shown
they deeply care about our community. They send the
message that this is the kind of society we want to have -
one that respects individual achievement and takes pride
in helping others succeed. It is always a hard task to narrow
down this field of award winners, since we know that
everyone reading this newsletter has done something to
contribute to the success of another at some point in time.
Another item of business at our Awards Luncheon will be
the induction and recognition of those people who have
the task of sorting through all of the decision making and
planning for our Chamber. They are our Board of Directors.
They are a wonderful group of 15 volunteers who give
their time to make our Chamber a respected source of
information and help for citizens and businesses.

What is Leadercast? The Leadercast event is broadcast LIVE from Atlanta, GA to
hundreds of sites around the world, including Rockwall.
The location of the simulcast is the Utley Middle School/Rock-
wall High School Performing Arts Center located at 1201 T L
Townsend Dr in Rockwall. Doors open at 7:45 am on May 8.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Leadercast exists to positively change the way the world
thinks about leadership. If you haven’t been to Leadercast
before it is truly a unique and thought provoking event.
Leadercast is a worldwide simulcast, full day leadership event
that strives to help develop better leaders whether it’s inside
the boardroom or out in the community. With a reach of over
125,000 fellow professionals tuning in together it is one of the
largest leadership events ever created.
This year’s theme—The Brave Ones — challenges leaders
to lead with a sense of Bravery, possessing a posture of un-
relenting boldness. Bring your friends or team members to
experience Leadercast and discover what it means to be a
leader worth following.
Last year, over 130,000 leaders from 35 countries
attended Leadercast. Now, in its 16th year, this full day,
experiential conference is on track to reach it’s largest
audience to date.
Who Do We Serve?Leadercast is focused on building Leaders Worth Fol-
lowing. Leadership is not reserved for those with a ‘C’ in
their title. We need better leaders in our communities,
businesses, organizations, and in homes across the world.
Leadercast exists to serve individuals and organizations
across all sectors who want to become intentional about
raising their standard of leadership.
What Do We Believe?•We believe that leaders should think and
behave differently.
•We believe that certain behaviors serve as the
framework of a leader worth following:
• Simplicity- brings clarity to the complex.
• Creativity- fosters an atmosphere that allows
others to dream.
• Bravery- possesses a posture of unrelenting boldness.
• Beyond You- leverages influence for the sake of others.
• Insight- resolves to consistently do the wise thing.
• Vision- moves towards a preferred future with
little deviation.
• Culture- architects the conditions to win.

MEET YOUR TEACHERlori jackson
Herndon Intermediate Campus
Lori Jackson is the 2014-15
Herndon Intermediate Campus
Teacher of the Year and District
Secondary Teacher of the
Year. Lori spent 15-years as a
paralegal, before deciding to
follow her life-long dream to
become a teacher. She has been
teaching Science for 4 short years and students love
her. Lori is excited about teaching and students get to
explore, navigate, experiment, solve problems and they
have fun learning.
Lori earned a Bachelor of Arts in Speech
Communication at Texas A&M College Station, before
returning to school to acquire her teaching certificate.
Lori feels that as an educator we have the privilege
of showing students that they are cared for, that they
are loved, and that every single one of them is very
special. It really does take a village to raise a child. If
we can have more collaboration between parents and
educators, our future leaders will be accomplishing
amazing feats! Imparting knowledge on a child
is extremely rewarding, but not as rewarding as
empowering each student to see their true potential.
Spot is still available & is our
guest who has been in the
shelter the longest. If Spot
could talk he would tell you
that he is ready to cut loose
from the shelter for a special
home like yours.
Spot is a mixed breed that
loves people. He has the per-
sonality that wants to please
which will come in handy since he will need to learn
some basic commands. Intro to other pets is necessary
but he would love a family with kids to call his own. He
is up to date on shots, neutered, & is microchipped. The
$60 adoption fee also includes a new collar with leash
and toys to take home. For more info on how to adopt
Spot, please call 214-934-9352 or 214-796-1445 or email

Press Release
Royse City acquisition is the latest addition for Primary Media
For Immediate Release – April 28th, 2015
Dallas Based Outdoor Advertising Company, Primary Media, continues their growth in the North Texas market with the purchase of 16 billboard faces in Royse City. Primary Media has increased their outdoor advertising presence in the fastest growing area in Rockwall County.
The 16 new faces compliment Primary Media’s existing billboard inventory on Interstate I-‐30. In the Rockwall to Greenville corridor, Primary Media is one of the leading outdoor advertising providers and their current client list includes both local and national advertisers.
Managing Partner Josh Feferman is excited about the acquisition and is pleased to be in the right in the middle of this growing area. “This is a great opportunity for our company to help new and existing businesses establish themselves in this rapidly developing area”.
Primary Media has almost 300 billboards in North Texas, a coverage that reaches 21 counties and 63 cities.
