RAMS Raise Money For Hospice

by Max Copeland and Meghan Dunn-Sibbett Last spring we (Max and Meghan) were chosen by our Grade 6 teachers to go to a fall leadership camp in Essex. In October we went to Gestwood Camp with approximately 40 other Grade 7 students from across Essex County. While we were there we were placed into “Tribes” and we learned about team work skills and how to participate and work with partners. Tournament Night was the BEST! While we were at leadership camp, we met the man that started Hospice. Hospice is an organization that helps and supports people and their families that are going through cancer and cancer treatment. One of the responsibilities we were assigned was to return to our school and do a fundraiser for Hospice. We decided Candy Grams would help raise money for Hospice. During the weeks leading up to our fundraiser we had announcements to tell people about our fundraiser. We had friends help us with our fundraiser. We sold the Candy Grams for a week and a half and in the end we raised over $200.00! Thank you to all the families and students who supported Hospice by buying our Candy Grams. This February we plan on selling Candy Grams again! This time our fundraiser is called Hearts 4 Hospice. We will be selling Hearts For Hospice candy grams from February 7-9, 13th with a delivery date of Valentines Day – February 14th. Our goal is to be able to present Hospice with a check for $450.00. Advance thanks to all of our families and students for their support of our fundraiser and of Hospice.

Our RAM Basketball Teams take U of D

By Storm!

Congratulations to our RAMS for their

outstanding display of Respect, Acceptance,

Morale and Spirit during their visit to the

University of Detroit!

Chapters Donation to Roseland School

Earlier this year, Chapters Book Store adopted Roseland School though their annual Adopt-a-School Foundation. The Chapters staff at Devonshire Mall eagerly fundraised for approximately two weeks promoting our RAMS community holding Bake Sales on certain dates. We are very excited and overwhelmed to communicate that Chapters recently donated just under $2000 worth of gift certificates to our Roseland School Library! On January 31st, eighteen students accompanied by eight parents traveled to Chapters to select and purchase many brand new books for our library! The selected students were from grades 1 to 8 and were prepared with lists of books they wanted to purchase on behalf of their classmates and friends. It was tremendously exciting to watch our RAMS browse, search and select their favourite books, authors and series to add to our library! On behalf of the Roseland students, staff, and all our parents we would like to send the entire Chapter's organization as well as the Adopt-A-School foundation a very heartfelt gratitude! Thank you for all your efforts and willingness to spread the joy and love of reading!
