SCHOOL OF PHARMACY, DAVV- INDORE (452001)

In ROOTS 2019 3 types of intellectual events viz. Sports, Literary, and Cultural Events were fabricated as a final blue print. It was made sure that every individual of School of Pharmacy should get a chance to show their inner talent(s). The event was held for three straight days and on the last day of the event ALUMNI MEET was held to make the event more memorable for every individual. Along with this an exclusive DJ Night Event to make it a more lively and memorable moment was held. For this, students and faculties together planned the events which are mentioned below:

In ROOTS 2019, intellectual events of 3 types viz. Sports, Literary, and Cultural Events were included. It was made sure that every individual of School of Pharmacy should get a chance to show their inner talent(s). For this the below mentioned events were planned with the help of faculties:

A SPECIAL OCCASIONon 16thMarch 2019: In the midst of the event there was a very precious and special occasion in between the memorable event of Roots. It was so delightful that everybody looked forward to it eagerly. It was the Birthday of School of Pharmacy’s HOD Sir- Dr. Rajesh Sharma. As whole department together planned a swift and surprising event for our sir as a cake cutting ceremony. Whole SOP family gathered in seminar hall and after the celebration, respected sir gave a speech in which a life lesson was given. This speech filled up the students with a spirit determined to achieve its goal. While the whole moment flew in a gist all the celebration and memories were engraved deep in the hearts.

A VALUEABLE LIFE LESSON

Alumni Meet: Every pass-out student once in his/her lifetime dreams about going back to their Alma Mater. So, in the form of ALUMNI MEET a memory is created that no one could forget. Roots as an event was very special for us but, specifically ALUMNI MEET was a great part of the event. This ALUMNI MEET presented everyone with an opportunity to interact with the Alumni’s and get to know their experiences related to Pharmaceutical Industry and some important Life Lessons. But, the most important thing to keep in mind that Pharmacy being a dynamic and a gigantic field,the alumni also came from out of Madhya Pradesh and even from foreign.

For this, after the dates are selected for the initiation of ROOTS, the alumni committee comes in lime-light. The committee formed such a beautiful system in which every single alumnus had the information about the ROOTS 2019. They were informed via their email id, cellular device, google form, Whatsapp and text messages. A reminder call was given between 3-1 day prior to the event. And for the people with replaced or missing contact details relative help measures were takenfrom their respective classmates for attainment of any means of contact information.

The Alumni’s were askedto take some interactive sessions for the pupils of School of Pharmacy. To make the event more memorable some live interactive games were also held for the Alumni’s. There was different interaction from the alumni’s side some choose to share important knowledge about the actual live field in which Alumni works, some delivered motivations speech and some sang a song in reminiscence of their college memory. One of the ex-SOPian shared a mesmerising experience about the life of a pharmacy student. He introduced the nascent ones with the knowledge worth to keep in mind for life time. He in his speech told that- “Every pharmacist should know their purpose to serve in the field of pharmacy, in that too, some choose to find all the new possibilities and break the normal limits, while some choose to be a parable to be remembered. The path which one choose may or may not go according to one’s own will. But never give up no matter what, even when you fall on your knees, get up and chase your goal pushing your limits with all your might and there will be surety that you will succeed.”

After the completion of Interactive session with our Alumni’s, a price distribution ceremony was held to honour the students with certificates and medals along with the overall assessment for the best class award.

It became more memorable and a saccharine moment as 1 hour of Dance Party was arranged for all the Alumni and the School of Pharmacy Family. During the Alumni Meet the dinner was ready to be served by 8:00 pm on the clock.

As the night grew old no one wanted to get apart from their old memories with friends and faculties, but even good things have a certain end. At last after enjoying the Dinner with burst of laughter and remembering all those precious days spent with friends, this events also came to a good end and at last everybody was appreciating the organization of the event. In this event we shared emotions with our Alumni’s and were able to see the relationship between a student and a GURU could still be the same even after decades.
