The Story of our restaurant This project was an initiative of the National Department of Tourism who worked closely with the Overstrand Municipality. The Overstrand municipality managed Stony Point at that stage.

The Department looked for a community project in which everyone in the community will benefit. MooiUitsig is a community, here in beautiful Bettys Bay, which was left in abeyance. The community consists of 42 households. The MooiUitsig community Trust was established and all proceeds of the ON THE EDGE Restaurant goes into the trust. The trust aim to look at projects which benefits all beneficiaries socially and economically.

The restaurant was opened in December 2014. The then Minister of Tourism, Derek Hanekom, officially handed over the project to the community in 10th April 2015.

This project begun in 2007 and full completion and operation took place by the end of 2014.

Mid 2014 Cape Nature took over the management of Stony Point and also started with capacitating the trustees.

We have experienced many challenges, but keep going and keep on trying our best.
