TORONTO, December 16, 2015 – Canadian businesses can take two months to detect a breach2 due to

a lack of tools and resources. To address this challenge, Rogers Communications announced today a

new portfolio of leapfrog cybersecurity solutions that will help Canadian businesses to detect and prevent

against global cyber-attacks. These robust solutions will be delivered as a service so customers can

focus on running their business, while having their networks and data secured. They will have access to

diagnostic tools to decipher failed attacks and dedicated support and threat intelligence from teams of

security experts operating from Canadian security operations centres.

“Cybersecurity is the number one concern for Canadian businesses of all sizes, and many lack the

resources, time and expertise to manage the reality of cyber threats today” said Nitin Kawale, President,

Enterprise Business Unit, Rogers Communications. “We are introducing solutions to our customers of all

sizes, with local and global operations, that are backed by one of the world’s cybersecurity leaders,

Trustwave. These solutions are offered as a service to give our customers peace of mind knowing their

networks and data are secured.”

Rogers new suite of cybersecurity solutions will be offered to customers through a partnership with

Trustwave. Trustwave provides solutions and a threat intelligence network that protects businesses from

global and local threats and easily scales from small and medium businesses to large enterprises. Early

next year, customers will have access to a global team of Canadian-based security experts who will help

them to manage solutions including:

Real-time monitoring: 24x7x365 monitoring of security events within a businesses’ network infrastructure. Experienced security analysts operating from Canadian-based security operations centres will detect threats and mitigate risks before they occur.

Cybersecurity diagnostic tools: Proactive scanning and security testing to identify network security weaknesses and solutions ahead of a breach.

Dedicated support: Dedicated security teams will help customers to comply with laws governing data protection and to maintain their network infrastructure.

“Teaming with an industry leader like Rogers Communications will bring much-needed cybersecurity and

managed security services capabilities to the Canadian market,” said Trustwave Chief Executive Officer

and President Robert J. McCullen. “Rogers’ extensive expertise combined with Trustwave’s experience to

deliver enterprise-grade managed security to businesses in 96 countries is a powerful combination that

will help businesses fight cybercrime and protect data.”

Business leaders and industry analysts also understand the importance of robust, as-a-service

cybersecurity solutions:

“As a trusted re/insurance consulting and outsourcing provider, our business is grounded in the principle

of providing our customer solutions based on secure, recoverable, and reliable systems, along with a

positive experience – we cannot do that on our own” said Ian Sanderson, Vice President, IT, LOGiQ3. “As

a growing mid-sized company, we rely on trusted suppliers to provide us enterprise security solutions

entirely as a service. With this, we can do more with less, and focus on growing our business, knowing

that our information and data is well protected.”

“In 2016, security spend in Canada will exceed $2 billion for the first time as organizations rally to defend

themselves against cyber threats,” said David Senf, Vice President, Infrastructure Solutions Group at IDC

Canada. “Only a mere 6% of security spend comes from Canadian small businesses yet they employ

50% of all Canadian workers. This key segment of more than 1 million businesses has been underserved

by the security market to date. IDC sees a strong shift among Canadian organizations towards managed

security services, as they try to fill their increasing skills and knowledge gap.”

Canadian businesses today spend 70% of their time ‘keeping the lights on’, and only 30% innovating3.

Cybersecurity solutions offered as a service will free up time and resources for customers to focus on

growing their business. These are the first in a series that Rogers will launch to address the burden

cybersecurity puts on Canadian businesses. This portfolio combined with Rogers’ fast and reliable

network allows businesses of all sizes to operate seamlessly and securely.
