BUSINESS PLAN
WASTE MINIMISATION ROADSHOW 2014
EDEN REGION
1. INTRODUCTION
Eden District Municipality, in collaboration with local municipalities: Bitou, George,
Hessequa, Knysna, Mossel Bay and Oudtshoorn, will be hosting a waste management
roadshow throughout the Eden region as part of the Waste Minimisation Public Awareness
and Education Campaign.
The objective of the Waste Minimisation Roadshow is to create public awareness regarding
waste management and waste minimisation e.g. at source recycling and home composting.
The Roadshow is also a marketing opportunity for the waste management industry.
The Roadshow will start in Bitou Municipality and end in Mossel Bay Municipality. An
official opening and closing will take place at the respective towns.

3. ROADSHOW 2014 THEME & LOGO
It was decided by the Eden Integrated Waste Management Forum that the theme of the
Roadshow 2014 be ‘Green Waste Management’, specifically focussed on household green
waste management. The leaf in the recycling logo represents the Green Waste
Management component.

3. EXHIBITIONS
The size of each exhibition will be 3m x 3m. Tables will be made available for exhibitors; this
will be arranged by each municipality.

5. MEDIA
Each municipality must arrange the following in terms of media:

Eden District Municipality will provide teardrop banners, street banners and x-frame
banners to be used for the Roadshow.

Each Municipality is responsible for the printing and distribution of their own A3 posters.
8. MEETINGS
Once the attendance by industry is confirmed (11 July 2014), a meeting will be arranged
with all roleplayers. Meetings will be held on a regular basis leading to the Roadshow in
order to ensure adequate planning.
