Manager’s NotesThe Rincon Flavor
We know we've written about our Rincon community before
but we felt you would appreciate how we compare to what the
results of a survey conducted a few years ago revealed
regarding what components added flavor to the
attractiveness of a community. Some of the components that
were important to the responders were social offerings, such
as entertainment and places to socialize; friendliness of the
residents or how welcoming the community was; and the
communities' aesthetics, or visual appeal. With the
community center and other amenities here at Rincon where
residents can socialize and enjoy many activities and events,
as well as the surrounding mountain vistas, Rincon has
important components of what adds flavor to make a
community attractive. Yet, when you factor in all of the
characteristics revealed in the survey we think you would
agree the most distinguishing and important characteristic is
the residents. You might describe what the residents bring to
our sense of community as the Rincon Flavor. The many
different personalities and gifts represented, such as
creativity; a strong desire to help others; compassion and
empathy, all contribute to the unique flavor found here in our
community. So let's continue to celebrate and do our part to
share in this uniqueness of our community and thereby enrich
The Rincon Flavor.
Friendly Reminders
It has been brought to our attention that some have found
cigarette butts in their yard. We ask you to please not toss
cigarette butts (lit or otherwise) onto your neighbors' yards
while out walking or driving around golf carts. Cigarette butts
on yards or on the streets distract from the attractiveness of the
community. Your cooperation is much appreciated!
Yard Contest
We are excited to announce the winner of the yard contest for
this quarter! But before we reveal the winner we once again
wish to express how difficult the choice was because so many
of you have worked hard to express your creativity through
the beautifying of your yards. We appreciate the efforts many
of the residents have put forth in maintaining their yards
which in turn contributes to the enjoyment of the community.
Now back to announcing the outcome, we are happy to
present the award for the winning yard of the south section
beginning with lot 14 through lot 29 and lot 102 through lot
147, to Fred and Linda Taylor who reside at lot 109. Fred and
Linda, we thank you for your diligent efforts in maintaining
your yard in such a way that enhances the beauty and
enjoyment of the community!

With the arrival of 2017 why not make it your resolve to look
out for one another this year and take the initiative to touch
each other's life in a positive way whether by helping those in
need or volunteering with many of the activities here in
Rincon that are geared towards the resident's enjoyment
and/or benefit. You never know how even just a warm,
friendly smile can improve someone's day who may be
experiencing some family or economic trial.
Remember, your Rincon experience is what you make it!

Happy New Year from all The Owl's Nesters!
We have enjoyed this past year of crafting together and
the results are amazing. We have sewn and filled 20
stockings for the Roadrunners to give out on Caroling
Night. Thank you for all the great donations and many
volunteer Crafters.
We had a successful Arts and Crafts Fair on 12/03/2016
and the proceeds and donations will go a long way for
future needs.
Next year the Nesters will start off with a Planning and
Organizational meeting sometime mid-January (exact
date to follow). Watch for Facebook Crafters Group
notice.
Let's have a great healthy New Year!
And always remember: If you have suggestions for any
additional crafting demonstrations for 2017 please
contact The Owl's Nesters!
Barbara Zarro, Director & All of The Owl Nesters
Nominating Jan Stivers and Judy Cameron for Queens for a Day
in the Rincon Country Mobile Home Park!!!!!
Jan has been the Road Runners President for two years in a row
and for the full year each time (no breaks for her). She has been
our fearless leader for setting wonderful fun and happy
entertainment programs and has done it with a smile and a kind
spirit. She has led us through 2 July 4th programs, 2
Thanksgiving dinners, 2 Christmas and New Year's programs,
and 2 golf cart parades with chili dinners and sing alongs; 2
Veteran events, many potlucks, happy hours / jamming /sing
alongs, dances and karaoke events, and established the
Christmas decoration awards.
Judy Cameron has been 3411 President for two years as well as
Treasurer for Road Runners and this has been for 2 full years (no
breaks for her either). She has been instrumental in moving the
3411 meetings from a grumbling, complaining time to a brief
(half hour) meeting where we report on the Committees she has
established: Help your Neighbor, Peace in the Park, I'm OK,
Blood Pressure, Welcome group, New Members which is now
Sergeant-at-Arms, and Security. She then established a follow up
program to help make living in the park a better experience,
(such as TEP, Smoke alarms, health insurance/Medicare as well
as veteran benefits and many more helpful programs).
Now I need to be clear (as I can hear them saying…I didn't do it
alone)… that they have not done this alone as they have had
many helpful volunteers and board members, but they have
been the faithful change agents and leaders through the 2 years.
These ladies have volunteered tirelessly for two full years and
kept our Park flowing in good ways. We want to thank them
(and did so with thank you cards and a little gift)…
…so be thanked dear Jan and Judy for all your wonderful
helpful work to make Rincon Country Mobile Home Park a
better place for the past 2 years.
Submitted by Shirley Pilster Daniel (and please, anyone feel free
to nominate your own 'Queen for a Day' )

PHOTO GUIDELINESIndividual residents or couples, preferably in your twenties. Photos that are in focus and without dark shadows reproduce best. The bigger the picture, the better! Photos of yourself doing something (sports, playing an instrument, working, driving a tractor, in uniform, getting married, etc) lend interest. Please bring your color or black & white picture to the office for scanning (to be returned unharmed). Include your name, phone number, lot number, a brief description, and approximate year of photo.
Peggy's Bistro is a noon meal that is served every First and Third Tuesday of each
Month. This is a meal supported by your donations which pays for the food
prepared. This is all made possible with the help of many volunteers that donate
not only food but also their time for set up & clean up, preparation, cooking, and
making desserts. This great service also has volunteers that deliver food to people
in our park that are in need of meals financially, or they are physically unable to
make it to our club house. Please get to know your neighbors and invite them to
come eat and socialize. If you know of someone that is not feeling well or who
could benefit from meal delivery, please call Peggy 520-539-8007. You can also call
me and come to the kitchen door for a meal to be picked up. What a wonderful
service to help out our family of park residents. I wish this could be offered more
days.
If you are physically or financially unable to do yard work, please call Peggy 520-
539-800. Help Your Neighbor Committee will help you with your yard as a one-
time volunteer service. Weeds will always come back. Calling around I have found
an out of park service called Warren Weed Co.( 520-870-9847 ). Their one-time $40
service fee (for the year) includes a pre-emergent and weed spray. They will come
every couple months and spot spray any returning weeds. They also welcome your
calls if you see other weeds coming up. Otherwise our Park has a great many
people with their ads listed in the Rincon Views that do repairs and yard work.

Notes & Upcoming Events
Please note, all residents of Rincon Country Mobile Home
Park are automatically members. There are no
membership fees. Over the last two years the concept of
the Association has changed. We are no longer a
complaint department (complaints are handled at the
Management Q&A meetings). Being here for our
neighbors is our highest priority. Providing programs that
are beneficial for you are primary on our 'to do' lists.
Elections were held at our December meeting. Your 2017
Board is as follows.
President – Margie Busa
Vice President – Leah Bloomenthal
Treasurer – Jerry Campbell
3 Year Director - Kelly Guinup
2 Year Director - Cheryl Cooper
1 Year Director - Linda Bonnie Haskins
Immediate Past President – Judy Cameron
Upcoming Programs:
January - The Tucson Musical Canine Freestyle Club,
"Dancing Dogs". No, you won't be able to bring your pets
to watch. If you choose, the dogs will take donations.
It has been my pleasure to serve as President for the past
two years. I sincerely hope you will be as supportive of
Margie this coming year as you have been for me. I know
she wants to continue to create a neighborhood in which
you can be proud to be a resident.

GratitudeThank you to all who signed the "Thank You" card and the
nice gift for my 2 years as President of the Road Runners!
That was very thoughtful!

Bicycles in the ParkWhat a wonderful place we live and how fortunate we are
to be able to be out of doors doing so many things most of
the year.
Along this line, many have been taking up bicycling in the
park. We are glad to see folks exercising and want to
encourage this. That said, please know that all moving
equipment (bikes, golf carts, cars, truck, motor bikes, etc)
are to adhere to the 10 mile an hour signs posted all around
the park. Some folks have almost been run over by the
speeding bikers. This is not acceptable and we are
requesting that you please slow down or better yet if you
want to go fast and hard, please go outside the park and
use the bike trails. We live very near a great one on the
other side of the wash and it is our
hope in the future (next year
sometime) to make it more
accessible (stay tuned for
future).
Thank you,

Tai Chi & Silver Sneakers in the Park
Our 'master' and teacher, Mike Moore, has been teaching
Tai Chi and Chi Kung exercises in the Park since April 12,
2016 on Tuesday and Thursday at 8 a.m. in the club house.
He plans to continue helping us to get healthy, breathe
better, have more balance aas well as learning the Tai Chi
and Chi Kung routines. He has agreed to continue this
coming year and for this we are very grateful! Further, he
has been busy getting 'certified' which will allow him to
teach us through The Silver Sneakers Program, so that
those who are in this program can attend at no cost. He has
agreed to let ALL participate paying what they can as we
have been doing. I want to encourage you all to attend as
you can and come as you have time and join us as often as
possible but it is not necessary to come every week. Though
some of us have been 'learning' for a while, we welcome
newcomers and Mike is a willing teacher…you will love
him as we do. Hope to see you there in 2017…to your
health! -- Shirley Pilster Daniel
The Rincon Country Gentlemen
are men from our mobile home park
and the RV park next door who
perform here in the park and
elsewhere several times in January,
February and early March.
If you can carry a tune, please join
us at a practice in the auditorium at
the RV park on Mondays from
12:15 to 2 p.m. Some ability to read
music is helpful but not essential.
We sing 4-part harmony but with
accompaniment, so it is not
barbershop.
You can drive around to Escalante,
or you can walk thru the gate at the
southeast end of our parking lot, by
the recycling bins. The season is
short so come now. The first
practice will be Monday, January
2nd at 12:30.
For more in fo rmat ion and
encouragement call George Koss
at 885-3410.
C (community) E (emergency) R (response) T (team)
Smoke Alarms:We will be scheduling another Saturday, hopefully in February, to get more
smoke alarms installed with the assistance of The Red Cross. There will be a sign
up sheet in the office throughout the month of January as we will need to know
how many more for them to bring and then coordinate a date with them. This is
free to our park residents so if you are in need of smoke alarms please check at
the office for this important sign up sheet. You may also call the office to add your
name and lot number to the list.
Fire safety prevention:We had a very informative review on Dec. 14 and learned there are 5 types of fire
extinguishers to put out fires. Would you know the right type to purchase and
how long do you keep one before replacing it? Candle burning was another
hazard we discussed and realized they may be nice to look at but actually give off
some toxic fumes besides being dangerous in a power outage. Battery operated
ones are the safest and are actually quite nice to use. Space heaters were another
fire hazard and if you do use one be sure to keep it 3 feet from anything and
always shut it off upon leaving the room or your home. More on fire safety
coming to a 3411 meeting in 2017.
Our next informative gathering is Wednesday, January 11th at 6:30 at the Owl's
Nest. We will be looking at what we want to cover as a team for the first 6 months
of the new year. We are looking for others in our community that would like to get
involved with helping our neighbors and friends in the event of an emergency
here in our park. It's always good to be prepared and know what to do.
Thanks, Nellie
