Blood Bikes Wales rider, Don Minett, delivered 4 litres of frozen breast milk to two South WalesNeo-natal units as part of the Blood Bikes service.He collected the milk at Ross-on-Wye from Blood Bike colleagues inthe Midlands, the Midlands Free Wheelers, who had collected it fromthe Birmingham Women’s Hospital at edgbaston. Two litres weredelivered to the Neo-Natal Unit at the royal gwent Hospital,Newport and after a ride down the M4 the other two litres weredropped off to the Neo-Natal Unit at singleton Hospital inswansea.

That’s a 176 mile trip and if he hadn’t delivered the milk, bothhospitals would have ordered taxi’s to collect the milk fromBirmingham. The Yeovil rider then impressed even further by surging to tenth in theLighweight. However, Jessopp’s hopes of a flying finish in the prestigiousSenior event were thwarted when he collided with a wall at Governor’s onlap three.

At the time of the incident Jessopp was as high as 11th at GlenHelen on lap three thanks to a 118.698 MPH average, posting122.236 MPH at Bungalow and 143.7 MPH at Sulby. Jessopp hadmaintained and even improved his pace to cross the line in a timegood enough for tenth. Martin who started 32nd was 23rd at thetime of the incident, a high side after hitting a patch of damp, hewas lucky to walk away with just a broken shoulder blade.

Well done Martin in your first TT and we wish you a speedy recovery.
