REFLECTION FOR OUR 150TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE DEDICATION OF ST. JOSEPH CHURCH Sunday “is Easter which returns week by week, celebrating Christ’s victory over sin and death. . . . The Resurrection of Jesus is the fundamental event upon which Christian faith rests . . . an astonishing reality . . . absolutely unique in human history.” (Dies Domini 1, 2)

18th Sunday in Ordinary Time Thank you, thank you, thank you to all those who made

our 150th anniversary celebrations this past week so

amazing. I am very grateful to all those who worked so hard (many of them behind the scenes) to make this a memorable event!

As I mentioned previously, our 150th anniversary will be

celebrated over the course of a year under the theme of Celebrating the Lord’s Day. We will be having special events throughout this year aimed at helping us celebrate the gift that Sunday is – a day meant for worship, family, friends, rest, renewal, and service. Stay tuned!

From August 9 – 16 I will be away on my annual family vacation. A visiting priest – Fr. Bernie – will be here that weekend from Cross Catholic Outreach to preach all the Masses. This is our annual opportunity to hear about how vital the missions are to the life of

the Church, both nationally and internationally, and

to support them. Thank you for your generosity.

Our annual parish festival will be held on August 17th

here at St. Joseph’s. Please join us!

God bless you and your week – Fr. Marcoe

“Precisely in an age when the inviolable rights of the person are solemnly proclaimed and the value of life is publicly affirmed, the very right to life is being denied or trampled upon, especially at the more significant moments of existence: the moment of birth and the moment of death.”
