6) Haze Mitigation
a. A team, comprising Tham Kwok Wai, David Cheong and myself, is involved in the exploration of solutions to mitigate human exposure to haze in indoor environments. Experiments involving different types of filters integrated with fans are in progress in NUS and these are for applications in both naturally ventilated and air-conditioned buildings (July
2013 To date). b. Development of an advisory paper titled Mitigation of Human Exposure to Smoke Haze in
Indoor Environments for NUS President and Provost. Involved as part of a Task Force with colleagues from SDE and FOE. This was done in mid to late June 2013, when the haze in Singapore was at its peak (June 2013).
