FAQ Location and accommodation
•What time will they depart and arrive home?
On Monday, children need to be at school at around 9am for a departure by 9:30am.
On Thursday, we will leave at 3:30pm and hopefully arrive back by 5pm (traffic dependent).
•How long does it take to get there?
It takes around 1 hour-1½ hours to get there.
FAQ Location and accommodation
• How many children share a bell tent?
There are 10 children in one tent. Tents will be allocated to a single gender.
• How far away from the children are the adults accommodation?
There will be at least 2 adults from Moulsham Juniors School in each camp as well as leaders from Cuffley in separate staff tents.
• How are decisions made who the children share with?
Children are asked to choose 6 children they would like to share with. We guarantee that children will have at least 1 child from their list in their apartment.
We also ask the children if there is someone they do not want to share with because of an ongoing issue. The teachers would need to be aware of the issue beforehand.
Children find out on arrival who they will be sharing with.
Food
• The menu is cooked by trained Camp Chefs.
• It is cooked and served in the camp.
FAQ Food
•What if my child has allergies or a dietary requirement?
Before the trip, there are a range
of forms to complete: one of which
is about dietary requirements.
Where necessary, we will contact
Cuffley Camp prior to our visit to
discuss a child’s need.
• Each itinerary is designed to encourage the development of resilience,
team-work and self-confidence. The carefully selected activity
sessions will see students face the physical challenge of the ropes
courses and mental challenges of solving problems in the great
outdoors. With the emphasis firmly on having fun and acquiring new
skills, the students will also learn to work together to enjoy a range
of adventure experiences.
Activities
• Below is an example itinerary
Meet the Team!We have a really experienced team at Moulsham Junior
School who
have many been on a range of residential trips. Mrs
Matthews will lead the trip as usual. Children will be
accompanied by lots of staff who will work with the
children throughout the whole trip.
During the day time
activities, children will
be in groups which will
remain the same over the
course of the week. For
each activity, the group
will be assigned a member
of Cuffley staff.
They build a fun and
supportive atmosphere
which really makes the
trip enjoyable for all.
FAQ Activities• Are activity groups created in friendship groups?
Children are asked to choose 6 children they would like to share with. We guarantee that children will have at least 1 child from their list in their activity group (although these might be different children to the apartment group).
We also ask the children if there is someone they do not want to share with because of an ongoing issue. The teachers would need to be aware of the issue beforehand.
