CHARLES MILLER TAKES THE HELM AS PRESIDENT OF THE REP. CLUB OF THE NORTHERN PALM BEACHES The Republican Club of the Northern Palm Beaches kicked off the year at the Yardhouse Restaurant in Palm Beach Gardens on January 31st. Florida State House Representative Pat Rooney swore in the recently elected officers of the club.

Afterward, Representative Rooney spoke about his first two months in office and gave his first

impressions of our new Governor Rick Scott. The meeting was very well attended, and many new members joined the club. In attendance were also Commissioner Karen Marcus and State Senator Ellyn Bogdanoff, as well as George Carter, candidate for Mayor of Riviera Beach (which includes Singer Island). Also present were our Republican Party County Chairman Sid Dinerstein, State Committeewoman Fran Hancock, and Secretary Mike Barnett. The Republican Club of the Northern Palm Beaches will hold its next meeting on Monday, March 21st at Frenchman's Reserve Country

REC MEMBERSHIP REPORT

From your Asst. Vice Chairs Sue Snowden and Marilyn Parmet

Recently at the Republican Executive Committee meeting of February 9th your Membership Vice Chairs made a very successful personal appeal for funds to be used for mailing purposes. Mark Hoch, our Political Director, found almost 600 precincts without any representation on the REC. Mark also identified approximately 3,000 “Super Voter” households in which both HUSBAND and WIFE were consistent, reliable voters in these unrepresented districts. In one night we collected $600 from the members of the REC. We will use that money to pay for hard copy

mail invitations to send to these “Super Voter” households to invite to become REC members. REC Committeeman Jay Goldfarb volunteered to help us with the mailings through his printing business (Many thanks to Jay).

Additionally, we have made appeals to members of various GOP clubs throughout the county to become REC members. We continue to ask all REC members to look within your own list of friends to invite new members to join the REC. Thank you.

Being a Republican means understanding that we believe in having equal rights, equal justice, and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, age, sex, or national origin. It means believing in lower taxes, less regulation, and that the proper function of government is to do for the people those things that have to be done but cannot be done by individuals. Being a Republican means you love your country. You understand that we have checks and balances between the different branches of governments and that each political side has different views and opinions. Robert Taft

believed in the "Federalism" model of the American Republic. His faith was in basic American values and the abilities of the people to seek Liberty. Achieving this goal requires that such liberty is founded upon an economic system based on free enterprise, a political system based on citizen participation, and national independence and sovereignty for our country. The Greatest Republican understands, as Ronald Reagan once said in 1964 “If we lose freedom here, there is no place to escape to. This is the last stand on Earth.” And this idea that government is beholden to the people, that it has no other source of power except to sovereign people, is still the newest and most unique idea in all the long history of man's relation to man. We Republicans believe in America’s capacity for self-government; we will never abandon the American Revolution and confess that a small, intellectual elite in a far-distant capital can plan our lives for us better than we can plan them ourselves.

Progress in America, our uncompromising commitment to democracy and the promise of our future is what makes America great. And as the founding fathers before us believed, God is a major factor in the creation of this nation. The Greatest Republican does not give up. Every day you are back out defending our country. You attend town hall meetings, you write letters to the editor, and you join and support local Republican groups. You make sure your elected officials are being held accountable. From walking with candidates, making phone calls for candidates, sign waving, fundraising, and attending tea parties, you do not give up, and you get up day after day every election cycle. You give with money, with your time, and you give from your heart! You are a veteran; you serve in the military. You are a doctor, a lawyer, a plumber, a factory worker, a teacher, an unemployed worker, and a business owner. You are a mom, a dad, an aunt, an uncle, a grandma, and a grandpa. You are a brother, a sister, and a friend.

bullet train, thereby saving Floridians billions in cost overruns and eternal operating deficits. President Obama wanted us to borrow money we don’t have, from countries we don’t like, to buy trains we won’t ride. Coming soon will be modified Teacher Tenure, budget caps and immigration reform. And to cap it all off, look for the legislative dynamic duo: Reverse Card Check and Tort Reform, the end of the taxpayer support of the Democratic Party. They might actually have to go to work. The lines in the sand are clear. It’s “We the people” versus “We the unions.” Do the taxpayers work for the unions or do the government employees work for the taxpayers? It’s coming here – and soon. As Joyce Kaufman admonishes: “Stay on the wall.”

A HAMAN IN EVERY GENERATION

This month we celebrate the festival of Purim. While there are many themes associated with this festival, one of the overriding themes is the incredible victory that God brought to His people Israel at a most difficult time. But has not this been the story throughout history? It seems that in every generation a Haman has arisen to plot the destruction of the Jewish people. In every case, God has thwarted that plan. It often seems to go back to the accusation that Haman made about the Jews before the King: “There is a certain people dispersed and scattered among the peoples in all the provinces of your kingdom whose customs are different from those of all other people and who do not obey the king’s laws; it is not in the king’s best interest to tolerate them” (Esther 3:8). And so Haman’s lies convinced the king to issue the decree to destroy the Jewish people, and Haman even was willing to pay the cost out of his own money. The plot would have been successful had not Mordecai and Esther intervened. Of course we know that even though God is not mentioned once in the Book of Esther, yet His hand is present throughout. He brought about a great deliverance and victory, and the tables were turned on Haman and his sons, who were hanged. As a result, we celebrate this great event every year. However, it is important to remember that this demonically inspired attempt to destroy the Jewish people has been repeated throughout history, even to today. We read in Psalm 83 about how Israel’s enemies conspired to destroy her. They are portrayed as God’s enemies:

“O God do not keep silent, be not quiet, O God, be not still. See how your enemies are astir, how your foes rear their heads. With cunning they conspire against your people; they plot against those you cherish. “Come”, they say, “let us destroy them as a nation, that the name of Israel be remembered no more” (Psalm 83:1-4).

The psalmist goes on to describe an alliance of nations who are plotting against Israel. One of those nations is Amalek, from whom Haman was descended. These are the people

that attacked Israel as they came out of Egypt, of whom God told Moses to destroy and blot out their memory. We see that same spirit of Amalek at work in our modern time, whether it be in a Hitler, or an Ahmadinejad. The story is the same. “Lets get rid of these people because they are the problem in the world”. But God has a different view. God says that Israel is inscribed on the palm of His hand. He says that she is the apple of His eye, and that those who come against her will be destroyed. As we celebrate Purim this year, let us remember that there are still those that plot Israel’s destruction. And at the same time, God still has His hand upon her. As the prophet Isaiah wrote 2700 years ago:

“All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish. Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all” (Isaiah 41:11-12). As was Esther for her time, so have we “come to royal position for such a time as this”, to take a stand and assert our kingly and priestly roles to pray and support Israel.

LINCOLN DAY DINNER FEBRUARY 2011

WEST PALM BEACH, FEBRUARY 24, 2011-- The 2011 Palm Beach County Lincoln Day Dinner was by all measures a grand success. Held at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach, over 600 people attended the annual Party fundraiser, organized by the event Chairwoman Gay Hart Gaines. Guests had a chance to mingle beforehand, sipping fruit punch and watching Congressman Allen West give an interview to the local television media. Greg Langowski and Anita Carbone

were hard at work, meeting guests at the front table, who included REC committee members from throughout the county, College Republicans, Young

office holders, and candidates for the upcoming municipal elections. Chairman Sid Dinerstein was Master of Ceremonies during the dinner, introducing several Palm Beach County elected officials, presenting this year’s Jean Pipes Award winners, and generally keeping everything in order as usual. Notable guests included Republican Party of Florida Chairman Dave Bitner, Congressmen Tom Rooney and Allen West, Florida Senate President Mike Haridopolos, Former Florida House Majority Leader Adam Hasner, and Radio Talk Show Host Joyce Kaufman.

THE JEAN PIPES AWARD The most closely-guarded secret in the County, this year’s winners were known only to Chairman Sid Dinerstein and Executive Director Greg Langowski. The prestigious Jean Pipes Award was presented by last year’s winners, Linda Gore and Jay Goldfarb, to Margi Helschien and George Blumel. Margi, as Vice Chair of the Republican Party of Palm Beach County and President of the Boca Raton Republican Club, was recognized

for her enthusiasm for our Party and for building up one of the largest Republican clubs in the County. George, a long-time party activist, member of the Republican Liberty Caucus, and member of the Republican Club of Central Palm Beach County, was credited for his involvement in establishing term limits for Palm Beach County commissioners.

NEWT ADDRESSES THE CROWD

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich gave his remarks, employing a mix of wit, humor, and intellect. Introduced by his long-time friend and event chair Gay Gaines, Mr. Gingrich said he hasn’t yet made a decision to run for President in 2012. Gingrich spoke on the rights and powers of the individual and the sovereignty of the states. He mentioned the need for creating a fundamentally new system centered around the individual rather than on the federal government. For example, Gingrich suggested that Medicaid be block-granted back down to the states and taken completely away from the federal government, which has micromanaged and mismanaged the program almost into insolvency. The Medicaid system will eventually need to be replaced, but a new system will more likely emerge when there are 50 states each experimenting with the program. Another example Gingrich cited would be to replace unemployment compensation with a “worker-retraining program.” Gingrich said he wants help those who truly need it, but that we should never again pay people simply to sit and do nothing. All Americans, said Gingrich, must be free to pursue the American dream, but the right to pursue happiness is all we were promised. “What are our rights?” asked Gingrich. “Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness…. tied to the work ethic.” But above all, Gingrich said he wants to see power returned to the individual, who in turn will decide how much power to surrender to the government. “You loan power to the state; the state never loans power to you…” he said to a thunderous applause.

TRUTH IN EDUCATION PROTEST

Recently, Alison Rampersad contacted me, your Grapevine

Correspondent, about the Florida Department of Education-approved Social Studies textbooks being used in our county’s schools. In those texts, over 200 excerpts were identified by Citizens for National Security as having pro-Islam, anti-Judeo/Christian biases. As a result, a protest against the Palm Beach County School Board was set for February 22nd. But the protest was cancelled once it was learned that the School Board’s Social Studies Department decided to comply with the group’s request to require that classroom teachers properly explain to the students what the errors are in the new textbooks and why they are erroneous. Alison instead decided to attend the protest in Tallahassee, at the Florida Department of Education, which focused on keeping pressure on the textbook publishers to publish the correct information and not factual errors.

FT. LAUDERDALE TEA PARTY After standing on the corner with our signs to stop abortion, my husband and I attended a meeting at the Jib Room to listen to Margie Patchett, a motivational speaker from Daytona who shared a wealth of information with our small group. Patchett started the Volusia Tax Reform group (VTR), an advocacy and action organization made up of a diverse group of citizens wanting to address the soaring property taxes, rising fees and rampant corruption that is destroying home values, killing jobs and the overall economy. VTR’s mission statement according to their website is "to promote greater government efficiency in an effort to improve our economy and the quality of life for Floridians."

Volusia Tax Reform has an executive board made up of professional business leaders, who meet regularly to discuss strategy, legislative actions and, formulating ideas to bring about reform and accountability. The group’s research committees

look in-depth at proposals made by local and state leaders. It also has a budget review committee for each of their local governments. This is a pretty intense group of organizations at their best. You can find them online at www.LowerTaxesNow.org. Patchett went on to tell us about the "FLORIDA FOREVER PROGRAM" and the purchasing of city, county and state property, known as "AGENDA 21". Patchett urged us to do our own research to get the complete picture of the intentions of those promoting Agenda 21. She informed us that the local City Manager runs government, makes all the decisions, and is not held accountable. Patchett’s most important point to us was to get involved; to get on a board, any board, just to take part in our local government.

CONSTITUTION COMMITTEE January 29th was the first of the monthly meetings in 2011 for Dean Taffel’s Constitution Committee. The discussion was on Central Banking, how it started, and where we are today with the banking system. It was an enlightening and informative session with a power point presentation by Dean, who outlined the banking systems

throughout history, from the Babylon Empire period to the present day. Included was the Sir Josiah Stamp (President of the Bank of England), the second richest man in the world in the 1920's, and Charles Lindbergh Sr., Dean also spoke on the Federal Reserve Act, legal tender law, and federal reserve notes. The discussion could plainly be summed up as follows: “Whoever controls the money controls the

country.”

WEST FOCUSES ON LIBYA, THE ADMINISTRATION’S RESPONSE, & U.S. SECURITY

BOCA RATON -- Congressman Allen West visited the Boca campus of Florida Atlantic University to address students, faculty, media, and supporters. The event was hosted by the FAU College Republicans and moderated by Professor Marshall DeRosa, who runs the James Madison Leadership Institute on campus. Radio talk show host Joyce Kaufman gave the introduction.

During the question and answer session Congressman West was asked about the existence of Islamic terrorist training compounds located on American soil, being operated by the Muslims of America organization. West responded, saying: "The world is a very fragile place right now...the Middle East is a powder keg. This

Islamic movement cannot co-exist with democracy…. We cannot afford to close our eyes, but there are some in Congress who do not understand the ideology behind this movement..." Regarding Libya and Egypt—West said that the United States’ position in these situations is to be “very forthright in not allowing the wrong actors to take over in these situations…I am very concerned about the power of the Muslim Brotherhood.” The Muslim Brotherhood, he continued, spawned off many Islamic terrorist organizations. West stated that we should be less concerned about the Egyptian army generals and more worried about the people down at the rank and file level where agitation can begin to bubble up, as we have already seen. West also stated that the U.S. must improve its intelligence gathering abilities, criticizing the CIA’s failure to see this turmoil happening well ahead of time. Regarding transportation security, Congressman West said that after 9/11 the U.S. missed the window of

opportunity to adopt security measures similar to what the Israelis employ, and that our focus now is completely wrong. TSA officials are requiring travelers to empty their water bottles and remove their shoes. “We are doing things that make us feel good, but it’s really not doing anything.” West said that instead, we should be engaging in “trend analysis” and focusing our resources where the problems are. The proper method is to study the trends and behaviors of the enemy, as West did while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. Following the question and answer session, one of the audience members, a West supporter, asked the Congressman if he would consider running for President in 2012. Congressman West laughed off the suggestion but did reportedly say, “I will do whatever the American people want me to do.” “You must start training up the next generation of leaders,” said West. “I’m not staying up there for any 20, 30 years. You have about 6 to 8 years of me and that’s it…I’m coming home….” West continued, “ I want to be part of this great America that I’ve been protecting. Who do I hand the baton off to?”

FAU COLLEGE REPUBLICANS UPDATE

After a nearly three year hiatus, Florida Atlantic University has a College Republican chapter once again! Our founders, Ashley Anastasi and Jon Taylor, were instrumental in bringing the club back and worked diligently to give FAU students a more sensible option than the College Democrats. At the beginning of this year, the club had no members, and now we are proud to announce that our roster includes over 100 members. FAU College Republicans were recently recognized by the Florida Federation of College Republicans (FFCR) as an official chapter. Due to having over 100 members the club will be able to send nine representatives to the annual FFCR convention. In addition, five of our FAU College Republicans traveled to Washington DC to attend CPAC 2011 and had a wonderful time hearing rousing speeches and soaking up the rich history of our nation’s capitol.

There are many opportunities ahead for the club. We are participating in the Students for Concealed Carry on Campus annual empty holster protest, as well as filing a bill with the Student Government to allow A&S fees to fund firearm education and safety classes. We have invited Congressman Allen West to speak to our group [see Page 8], as well as other local politicians. Finally, we are spreading the word about our chapter on campus by hosting an informational

table all week and posting signs to direct people to our meetings. FAU College Republicans are back! Monday club meetings start at 5pm and are held in the Sugar Palm Room upstairs of the Student Union at FAU Boca campus. The Thursday evening meetings start at 6pm and are held in the Queen Palm Room in the same building. Committee meetings start 30 min prior to the general meetings. AMERICANS ARE MIND CONTROLLED: EVIDENCE FROM

Are Americans “independent free thinking people in charge of their own destiny”? If you think the answer is yes, then think again? If you think that OTHER Americans are mind controlled but you are not, then you may want to rethink that as well.

In a 1961 speech at the California Medical School to

the Tavistock Group (a mind control experimentation organization), Aldous Huxley, a United Nations consultant and the author of Brave New World , said:

"There will be, in the next generation or so, a pharmacological method of making people love their servitude, and producing dictatorship without tears, so to speak, producing a kind of painless concentration camp for entire societies, so that people will in fact have their liberties taken away from them, but will rather enjoy it, because they will be distracted from any desire to rebel by propaganda or brainwashing, or brainwashing enhanced by pharmacological methods. And this seems to be the final revolution."

Huxley was talking about the essentials of what he and other members of his collective would call a “scientific dictatorship”. About ten years earlier another member of the collective, famed 'philosopher' Bertrand Russell, in his book

Party’s belief in their Messiah and Obama’s own narcissism drove them to put Obama in front of the cameras – and the world – to give commands to Hosni Mubarak, running down whatever remained of Mubarak’s credibility and further deteriorating the respect the world used to have for America. And, as is usual for the leftists, the opposite of their intentions occurred. Mubarak reacted and sent in agents provocateurs to raise the heat, and now the conflict is infinitely more intense and volatile than it was or likely had to be. Yes, Egypt needs change, but that change most probably could have been better manipulated in secret and made to appear that it was “made in Egypt”. Instead, King Obama’s narcissism, his NEED for adulation - especially from Muslims, wrecked any chance of that and only intensified the anti-Israel and anti-American factors in this crisis. That “shining city on a hill” a REAL President once referred to, sure looks a lot less shiny to the rest of the world today.

Hugh W. Brown served our country in the United States Air Force, from 1998 to 2002 and is currently employed in the finance industry. Hugh is also in the Florida Gubernatorial Fellows, a group founded by Gov. Bush that seeks to ensure Florida's greatness by actively educating and cultivating its future leaders. Hugh joined the REC because he wants to see the Party be more diverse in leadership positions and provide more outreach to minorities in Florida in the upcoming elections.

Joyce Vedral, a PhD in English Literature (NYU), taught in the New York City school system, grades K-12, and then became a professor of English Literature, teaching at Pace University (NY). At one point, Joyce started to gain weight and nothing seemed to work, so she consulted with bodybuilders and experimented with their techniques, reinventing them for “real people” (specifically women, then later for men). Shortly thereafter, she became a certified personal trainer and later, put her secrets into book, video and DVD form. But that’s just the beginning. From the time Joyce first appeared on the Sally Jesse Raphael show in 1991 to the present, her books, videos and DVDs have sold nearly two million copies. Her books have been on the New York Times and USA Today bestseller lists four times and have been bestsellers in Australia and several other countries. A Bronx native, Joyce pulls no punches and knows how to get to the point. What you see is what

you get. She is a sought after guest and has appeared frequently on Oprah, Montel Williams, and Today. In addition, she is in-demand on the lecture circuit. She has lectured for the RNC! In addition to her fitness books and DVD’s, Joyce has also written popular motivational books for adults and teens.

Joseph Preston was born and raised in West Palm Beach. He is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University, with a degree in Finance, and Nova Southeastern University, with a Master of Business Administration. He will graduate this spring with a Master of Accounting from Gardner-Webb University. He has

worked in local government as a budget Analyst and Financial Analyst and has also been an auditor of the Federal Grants programs. He is currently employed as a financial software consultant, working with federal, state and local governments. Joseph, through various jobs, has had opportunities to travel

all around America. He has seen what the numerous government programs have done to this country. As an auditor of grant programs, he was able witness government waste first hand. Joe believes that the government cannot continue to support people who have no desire to help themselves. He wants to help the Party recruit more young people to grow the future of the Party. He believes in the fiscal responsibility of the government, and that it’s not the government’s job to support everyone. He wants to fight for our rights established by the Constitution, which has enabled us to be free.

Arnold, Jr. “Born and raised in South Florida, I came to appreciate the awe of politics through the fervent teachings of morality from my father Jeffrey Craig Arnold Sr. My mother Sandra Jane Arnold always taught me the love of the written word as well as the living word which has served me ever since. After High School I came to Florida Atlantic University and started as a Pre-Med student, and after the 2008 general election I immediately switched to Political Science due to my involvement in the race. My volunteering for the John McCain campaign opened my eyes to the gullibility of some people who are considered educated. I made it my mission to teach those people the true way to prosperity through hard work, individualism, and due diligence. I hope one day to be a federal judge so as to practice judicial restraint rather than the judicial activism seen throughout the country today. The Impact of Science on Society, made the

following statements:

“… of modern methods of propaganda.... the most influential is what is called 'education'.” “It is to be expected that advances in physiology and psychology will give governments much more control over individual mentality than they now have even in totalitarian countries.” “Diet, injections, and injunctions (political correctness) will combine, from a very early age, to produce the sort of character and the sort of beliefs that the authorities consider desirable, and any serious criticism of the powers that be will become psychologically impossible. Even if all are miserable, all will believe themselves happy, because the government will tell them that they are so.”

An indispensable component of the propaganda that Russell refers to above is the ubiquitous world of mass media. Let's get some history on that:

First, in 1917, Representative Oscar Callaway of

Texas entered the following into the Congressional Record :

"In March 1915, the J. P. Morgan interests, the steel, shipbuilding and powder interests, and their subsidiary organizations, got together 12 men high up in the newspaper world and employed them to select the most influential newspapers in the United States and sufficient number of them to control generally the policy of the daily press of the United States."

"Emissaries were sent to purchase the policy, national and international, of … 25 papers.... [A] n editor was furnished for each paper to properly supervise and edit information regarding the questions of preparedness, militarism, financial policies, and other things of national and international nature considered vital to the interests of the purchasers…" "This policy also included the suppression of everything in opposition to the wishes of the interests served."

Edward Bernays, known as "The Father of Public

Relations", was the nephew of Sigmund Freud and a top consultant to CBS network founder William Paley. In his 1928 book Propaganda Bernays wrote this:

“Those who manipulate the organized habits and opinions of the masses constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of the country…. It remains a fact that in almost every act of our daily lives, whether in the sphere of politics or business, in our social conduct or our ethical thinking, we are dominated by the relatively small number of persons…. It is they who pull the wires which control the public mind, who harness old social forces and contrive new ways to bind and guide the world…. As civilization has become more complex, and as the need for invisible government has been increasingly demonstrated, the technical means have been invented and developed by which opinion may be regimented."

We live in a blue pill society in which adults, to

their detriment and grave danger, believe numerous absurd fairy tales implanted in them by scientific means referred to by the experts cited above. NO MOSQUE at GROUND ZERO! ACT! for America and the Christian Action Network Lead Opposition to Construction Effort. Boynton Beach, FL, Temple Shaarei Shalom. February 17, 2011 -- Tom Trento of the Florida Security Council hosted a very important talk on the proposed mosque to be built near the site of the former World Trade Center, where 2,753 innocent people lost their lives. Also invited to speak was Andy Sullivan (pictured in the blue hard hat), a construction worker who witnessed the attacks of 9/11 first hand. He was directly across the street working a construction job and watched the first plane strike the North Tower. Sullivan, Trento, and Jason Campbell of the Christian Action Network presented a special screening of “Sacrificed Survivors: The Untold Story of the Ground Zero Mosque.” In the film, many of the 9/11 survivors discussed the pain they’ve endured from losing their friends and family to terror. They also expressed fervent opposition to the construction of a “victory” mosque at the site, which remains to this day a burial ground for many victims whose remains have never been recovered. Particularly touching were the images of the youngest victim of the attacks, a two year-old girl named Christine Hanson. She was traveling with her parents Peter and Sue Kim aboard Flight 175, which crashed into the South Tower of the World Trade Center. After the film, Mr. Sullivan updated the audience on developments concerning the 9/11 Memorial—that members of the NYPD and NYFD who perished will not have their ranks inscribed with their names on the Memorial. Additionally, reported Mr. Sullivan, the memorial project’s executive directors have been consulting with Saudi scholars on the appropriate language to be placed on the Memorial walls. Thus, words such as “jihad” and “Islam” will not be found at the Memorial. “These Saudis are directing our

Executive Director on how to tell the story of 9/11” said Mr. Sullivan, eliciting loud gasps from the horrified audience. As he said in the film, Sullivan reiterated that radical Islamists have a long history of constructing mosques on the ruins of its defeated enemies. “You can all see the frightening symbolic nature of the ground zero mosque.”

Criticizing the City’s decision to allow the construction of the mosque at the former Burlington Coat Factory building, Sullivan said “The whole narrative of the ruling class just steamrolling over the will of the people has got to stop…and we can stop it….we have to show up at these town halls, at these meetings…” To learn more about stopping the ground zero mosque you can visit Andy’s website at www.bluecollarcorner.com.
