Report on Sports and Cultural Activities

2015-16

Department of Physical Education conducted various sports competitions and cultural

activities at University Level as well as Institutional Level for the session 2015-16. Around

300 students were participated in various competitions such as Cricket, Badminton, Football,

Hockey, Swimming, Athletics etc these competitions were held at University Level from the

month of August to January. Total 28 students were selected for National Tournament and

grabbed Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals at State, National and International Level

tournaments.

Intra Class Competitions was organized in the Month of December & January around

300 students participated in various game competitions like Badminton, Chess, Table Tennis

and Volleyball.

This was assisted by the Sports Committee and Youth Festival Committee. Hon’ble

Shri. Raosaheb Shekhawat, President V.B.S.M and Principal Dr. F. C. Raghuwanshi felicitated

the students who achieved ranks in various sports competition held at University Level by

giving tracksuits, certificates and Medals. The winner team or participant of Intra class

competition was also felicitated by giving Certificates and Medals.

Elocution Competition

Elocution Competition was organized by GEMS on 31/08/2015. The competition was

held at AV theatre, MBA Building, Vidya Bharati Mahavidyalaya, Amravati. Total 16 students

were participated in the competition. Dr. P.S. Yenkar, Dr. P.R. Rajput and Dr. S. R. Nair were

judge the competition and Hon’ble Principal Dr. F. C. Raghuwanshi was grace the occasion.

Elocution Competition

Badminton (Women)

Badminton Inter Collegiate Tournament was organized by Department of Physical

Education under S.G.B.A.U from 03/09/2015 to 07/09/2015. The competition was held at

Badminton Court, Vidya Bharati Mahavidyalaya, Amravati. Total 53 college team consisting

of 6 players each participated in the competition including 06 Students of our college. Winner

team of the tournament was Degree College of Physical Education, Amravati .The Guests for

the program were Dr. F.C. Raghuwanshi (Principal), Dr. P. R. Rajput (Department of

Chemistry) and Dr. N.G. Belsare (Head, Department of Physics).

Intra class badminton tournament was organized on 30/08/2015 in which 40 students

were admitted. The winners were felicitated with Certificates and Medals.

Table Tennis (Men)

Table Tennis Inter Collegiate Tournament was organized by Department of Physical

Education under S.G.B.A.U from 05/09/2015 to 08/09/2015. The competition was held at

Table Tennis Hall, Vidya Bharati Mahavidyalaya, Amravati. Total 33 college’s teams

consisting of 6 players each participated in the competition including 06 Students of our

college. Degree College of Physical Education was the winner and Prof. Ram Meghe Instituion

of Tech. was the runner up team. The Guests for the program were Dr. F.C. Raghuwanshi

(Principal) and Dr. H. K. Sisodiya and Dr. Sabir Ali.

Intra Class Table Tennis competition was organized on 30/08/2015 in which total 50

students were participated. The winners were felicitated by giving Certificates and Medals.

Total 12 students were participated in the Inter Collegiate tournament which was held

from 06/09/2015 to 11/09/2015 at Matoshri Vimlabai. Deshmukh Mahavidyalaya, Amravati.

Total 12 students were participated in the Inter Collegiate tournament which was held

from 07/09/2015 to 12/09/2015 at Government Vidarbha Institution of Science and Humanities

Amravati.

Chess (Men)

Chess Competition was organized by Department of Physical Education on 04/09/2015.

The competition was held at Yog Sadhna Hall, Vidya Bharati Mahavidyalaya, Amravati. Total

40 students were participated in the competition

Also 05 students were participated in the Inter collegiate tournament which was held

from 07/09/2015 to 12/09/2015 at Smt. Kesharbai Lahoti Mahavidyalaya, Amravati.

Badminton Inter Collegiate Tournament was organized by Department of Physical

Education under S.G.B.A.U from 07/09/2015 to 11/09/2015. The competition was held at

Badminton Court, Vidya Bharati Mahavidyalaya, Amravati. Total 50 college teams were

participated in the competition including team our college. Prof. Ram Meghe Institution of

Technology was the winner team of the tournament. The Guest for the program was Dr. F.C.

Intra Class Badminton competition was also organized on 04/09/2015 in which total 50

students were participated among them the winners was selected by the judges and felicitated

by giving Certificate and Medals.

Table Tennis Inter collegiate Tournament was organized by Department of Physical

Education under S.G.B.A.U from 09/09/2015 to 11/09/2015. The competition was held at

Table Tennis Hall, Vidya Bharati Mahavidyalaya, Amravati. Total 33 teams consist of 05

players each were participated in the competition including 05 Students of our college. Degree

college of Physical Education was the winner team of the tournament. The Guest for the

program was Dr. F.C. Raghuwanshi (Principal), Dr. Shyam Kale (Department of Commerce)

and Dr. K. K. Tapar (Principal, Pharmacy College, V.B.M.V.)

Also Table Tennis Intra Class Competition was organized on 30/08/2015 in which total

40 students have participated and the winner students were felicitated by giving certificates and

medals.

Quiz Competition

To encourage the students to widen their knowledge, GEMS organized a quiz

competition on 15/09/2015. The competition was held at AV theatre, MBA building V.B.M.V.

total 125 students were participated in the competition. They were informed about the rules

and regulations of each round in both Hindi and English language. The competition was judged

by Dr. P.S. Yenkar, Dr. P.R. Rajput and Dr. S. R. Nair. The program was chaired by hon’ble

Principal Dr. F. C. Raghuwanshi.

which was held from 29/09/2015 to 02/10/2015 at G.S. Arts, Commerce & Science College,

Khamgaon.

Total 10 students were participated in the Inter Collegiate tournament which was held

from 03/10/2015 to 08/10/2015 at Arts, Commerce and Science College, Chikhaldara.

Raisoni youth festival was held from 29/01/2016 to 30/01/2016 at Raisoni College, Amravati.

In this competition total 34 students were participated in various events like drams, skit, street

play, etc.

Felicitation program was organized by Department of Physical Education on 16th

February 2016. The program was held at AV Theatre MBA building, Vidya Bharati

Mahavidyalaya, Amravati. All the Color Coat holders, National Level Players and the teams

who achieved place at State Level were felicitated. The program was greeted by Dr. R. C. Kapil

(Principal, Shri. Shivaji College of Physical Education), Dr. F. C. Raghuwanshi (Principal,

V.B.M.V. Amravati) and Shri. Deepak Katariya (Vice-Principal V.B.M.V. Amravati).
