Report On Sports and Cultural Activities

2018-19

Department of Physical Education conducted various sports competitions and cultural

activities at university level as well as institutional level for the session 2018-19. The students

were participated in various competitions viz. Cricket, Badminton, Football, Hockey,

Swimming, Athletics etc. were held at university level from the month of August to January in

which around 350 students were participated. Total 34 students were selected for National

level tournament. Out of which, 3 students were selected for International level tournament.

Students brought laurel to the department by grabbing Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals at State,

National and International Level tournaments.

Sports carnival was organized by Vidya Bharati GEMS on 4th & 5th January 2019 in which total

15 game competitions were organized including Badminton, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Chess,

Carom etc. Around 1300 students were participated in sports carnival. Annual Gathering

“Josh” 2019 was organized on 29th & 30th January in which competition like Dancing, Singing,

Drama, Skit, Mime, Fashion Show etc. were organized, about 600 students were participated

in the various competitions.

This was assisted by the Sports Committee, Youth Festival Committee and all the members of

the Sports Carnival. Hon`ble Shri. Raosaheb Shekhawat, President V.B.S.M, Mrs. Manjari

Shekhawat Chairperson V.B.M.V. G.E.M.S., Principal Dr. F. C. Raghuwanshi felicitated the

students who achieved ranks in various sports competition held at university level by tracksuits,

certificates and Medals. The winner team or participants of Sports Carnival were also

felicitated by giving Certificates and Medals.

Singing Competition

Singing Competition was organized by GEMS on 08th August, 2018. The competition

was held at AV theatre, MBA Building, VidyaBharati Mahavidyalaya, Amravati. Total 24

students participated in the competition. The competition was judged by Dr. V.V. Parate, Ms.

Apurva Raut and Ms. V. R. Mehare and Guest for the program was Principal Dr. F. C.

Raghuwanshi and Prof. Mohan Bode.

Total 40 students participated in “Josh” Annual Gathering Program under G.E.M.S

which was held at Vidya Bharati Mahavidyalaya, Amravati on 29th and 30th January 2019.

Elocution Competition

To encourage the students to widen their knowledge by GEMS organized Elocution

Competition on 11th August 2018. The competition was held at Av theatre, MBA building

V.B.M.V. total 53 students participated in the competition. They were informed about the rules

and regulations of each round in both Hindi and English language. The competition was judged

by Dr. V.V. Parate, Ms. Apurva Raut and Mr. V. R. Mehare. The program was chaired by

Hon’ble Principal Dr. F. C. Raghuwanshi.

Chess Competition was organized by Department of Physical Education on 3rd and 4th

January 2019 in Sports Carnival. The competition was held at Yog Sadhna Hall, VidyaBharati

Mahavidyalaya, Amravati. Total 45 students participated in the competition, of which

1st Place Secured by Ms. Komal Chandak and Mr. Hrishi Panchagham

2nd Place Secured by Ms.Jayashree Dhandar and Mr. Siddhanth Zade

S.G.B.A.U. which was held on 05/09/2018 to 10/09/2018 at Smt. Kesharbai Lahoti

Amravati. Total42 students participated in the competition.

4thJanuary 2019. The competition was held at Badminton Court, VidyaBharati Mahavidyalaya,

Amravati. Total 61 students participated in the competition. Of which,

Table Tennis (Women)

Table Tennis Inter Collegiate Tournament was organized by Department of Physical

Education under S.G.B.A.U on 18th September, 2018. The competition was held at Table

Tennis Hall, Sports Complex, VidyaBharati Mahavidyalaya, Amravati. Total 26 College

teams; including 6 Students of our college were participated in A zone Table Tennis

Competition. Degree College of Physical Education won the tournament and Shri. Shivaji

Science College Team was declared as Runner- Up team. Dr. F.C. Raghuwanshi, Principal and

Prof. Saurabh Ghogre, Ram Meghe College of Engineering, was graced the function.

‘Sports Carnival-2019’ held on 3rd and 4th of January 2019 .Total 16 students have actively

participated in the competition and the students who won the competition were felicitated on

the day of Felicitation –‘Sanmaan’ viz.

competition was held at Table Tennis Hall, VidyaBharati Mahavidyalaya, Amravati. Total 08

Swimming Men and Women Inter Collegiate tournament was organized by Degree College of

Physical Education under S.G.B.A.U which was held from 24/09/2018 to 26/09/2018. Total 05

students from our institution actively took part in the competition in which Mr. Shravan

Marodkar, Pranay Lungare, Shravan Marodkar from men section secured Gold Medal in

different events of the competition on the other hand Ms. Sanjali Wankhade and Ms. Kasturi

Pinjarkar also secured Gold Medals in different events of the tournament.

GEMS Under the Sports Carnival on 3rd and 4th January 2019. The competition was held at

Play Field, Vidya Bharati Mahavidyalaya, Amravati. Total 57 students participated in the

competition.Of which,

1st Prize was secured by Mr. Kunal Yawale (M) and Ms. Rutuja Ingle (W)

2nd Prize was secured by Mr. Akash Nirali (M) and Ms. Shivani Shingane (W)

‘Purushottam Karandak’ and brought laurel to the college by securing I Place as well as secured

Fashion Show was organized by G.E.M.S in Annual Gathering “Josh” which was held

on 29th & 30th January 2019. The competition was held at Vidya Bharati Mahavidyalaya,

Amravati. Total 75 students participated in the competition. The winners were felicitated with

trophy from the guests.

29th& 30th January2019. The competition was held at Vidya Bharati Mahavidyalaya, Amravati.

Education on 3rd March 2019. The program was held at AV Theatre MBA building, Vidya

Bharati Mahavidyalaya, Amravati. All the Color Coat holders, National Level Players and the

Teams who achieved Place at State Level were felicitated. The program was greeted Shri.
