Report On Sports and Cultural Activities 2014-15 Department of Physical Education conducted various sports competitions and cultural activities at university level as well as institutional level for the session 2014-15. The students were participated in Cricket, Badminton, Football, Hockey, Swimming, and Athletics etc. These competitions were held at university level from the month of August to January in which around 300 students participated. Total 28 students were selected for National Tournaments well as secured Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals at State, National and International Level tournaments. Intra Class Competitions were organized in the Month of December & January around 250 students were participated in game competitions like Badminton, Chess, Table Tennis and Volleyball. This was assisted by the Sports Committee and Youth Festival Committee. Hon’bleShri.RaosahebShekhawat, President V.B.S.M and Principal Dr. F. C. Raghuwanshi felicitated the students who achieved ranks and medals in various sports competition held at university level by tracksuits, certificates and Medals. The winner team or participant of Intra class competition was also felicitated by giving Certificates and Medals.

Report On Sports and Cultural Activities
2014-15
Department of Physical Education conducted various sports competitions and cultural
activities at university level as well as institutional level for the session 2014-15. The students
were participated in Cricket, Badminton, Football, Hockey, Swimming, and Athletics etc.
These competitions were held at university level from the month of August to January in which

Elocution Competition
Elocution Competition was organized by Department of Physical Education under
GEMS on 26th August, 2014. The competition was held at AV theatre, MBA Building,
VidyaBharatiMahavidyalaya, Amravati. Total33 students were participated in the competition.
Dr. V.V. Parate, Dr. R.M.Patil and Dr. V.P. Shekokarjudged the competition and Hon’ble
Principal Dr. F. C. Raghuwanshiwas grace the occasion.

Quiz Competition
To encourage the students to widen their knowledge, GEMS organized a quiz
competition on30th August, 2014. The competition was held at AV theatre, MBA building
V.B.M.V. total 181 students were participated in the competition. They were informed about
the rules and regulations of each round in both Hindi and English language. The competition
was judged by Dr. V.V. Parate, Dr. R.M.Patil and Dr. V.P. Shekokar. The program was chaired
by Hon’blePrincipal Dr. F. C. Raghuwanshi.

from 01/09/2014 to 20/09/2014 at Government Vidarbha Institution of Science and
Humanities, Amravati.

Table Tennis Inter Collegiate Tournament was organized by Department of Physical
Education under S.G.B.A.U from 05/09/2014 to 08/09/2014. The competition was held at
Table Tennis Hall, Sports Complex, VidyaBharatiMahavidyalaya, Amravati. Total 31 college
teams were participated in the competition including the team of our college. The winner team
of the tournament was Degree College of Physical Education and runner up team was
Government College of Engineering. The Guests for the program were Dr. F.C. Raghuwanshi,
Principal and Dr. SangeetaDeshmukh, BhartiyaMahavidyalaya, Amravati.

which was held from 09/09/2014 to 12/09/2014 at Degree College of Physical Education,

Volleyball (Men)
Volleyball Competition was organized by Department of Physical Education on
18/09/2014.The competition was held at Volleyball Arena, VidyaBharatiMahavidyalaya,
Amravati. Total66 students were participated in the competition.
Moreover, 12 students were participated in the Inter Collegiate tournament which was
held from 22/09/2014 to 27/09/2014 at Degree College of Physical Education, Amravati.

tournament which was held from 11/10/2014 to 14/10/2014 at Degree College of Physical
Education, Amravati.

06/10/2014. The competition was held at Badminton Court, VidyaBharatiMahavidyalaya,
Amravati. Total40 students were participated in the competition.
Also 06 students were participated in the Inter Collegiate tournament which was held
from 12/10/2014 to 16/10/2014 at Degree College of Physical Education, Amravati.

Education under S.G.B.A.U from 12/10/2014 to 16/10/2014. The competition was held at
Badminton Court, Sports Complex, VidyaBharatiMahavidyalaya, Amravati. Total 49 college
teams (05 players each) wereparticipated in the competition including team of our college. The
winner team was Degree college of Physical Education and runner up team was H.V.P.M.
college of Engineering of the tournament. The Guests for the program were Dr. F.C.
Raghuwanshi (Principal) and Dr.Shyam Kale (Head, Department of Commerce)
Moreover, Badminton Inter Class competition was also organized on 08/10/2014 in
which total 30 students were participated and the winner of the tournament was felicitated with
Certificates and Medals.

Yoga Inter Collegiate Tournament was organized by Department of Physical Education
under S.G.B.A.U. from15/01/2015 to 17/01/2015. The competition was held at YogSadhna
Hall, Sports Complex, VidyaBharatiMahavidyalaya, Amravati. Total 36 colleges of 108
Students participated in the competition from various college including 30 Students of our
college. The Guests for the program were Dr. F.C. Raghuwanshi (Principal), Dr. JaikiranTidke
(Pro.VC. S.G.B.A.U), Dr. ArunKhodaskar (Prinicpal, D.C.P.E), Dr. ArvindDeshmukh (Arts,
Science College, Kurha).

Purushottam Karandak
Total 13 students were participated in the PurushottamKarandak which was held at Pune on
22/01/2015. The students were played a play namely “The Violence Tree” and the team was
selected for MahaAntimFeri. The student Mr. SagarLandge secured Consolation Prize for best
Actor.

Felicitation program was organized by Department of Physical Education on
27thFebruary 2015. The program was held at AV Theatre MBA building,
VidyaBharatiMahavidyalaya, Amravati. All the Color Coat holders, National Level Players
