DEPARTMENT DAY CELEBRATION Thursday, 06th April 2017

REPORT ON DEPARTMENT DAY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

Department Day of Mechanical Engineering was celebrated on Thursday, 06 April 2017 at Poornima

University. The theme of the Day was Skill India. The program was started with welcome note by Mr.

Pratish Rawat, HOD-Mechanical, Poornima University.

Dr. R.P. Rajoria, Designation: Former Chief Mentor & Advisor, Poornima University graced the occasion

as Chief Guest, and inaugurated the event with Lamp Lighting. Chief Guest addressed the students with

the message of skill India. He also discussed the habits of successful people and habit of listening. Dr.

B.K. Sharma, Principal, Poornima Group of Institutions also addressed the students and motivated them

for bright careers. Mr. Ashwani Kapoor, HOD – Mechanical Department, Poornima Group of Institutions

also addressed the students.

Students presented the annual report of department in guidance of Mr. Pratish Rawat, H.O.D. Mechanical

department. They discussed various Achievements and academic result of B.Tech. They also told about

the various programs, groups, and activities which are running in department for the welfare

students. Department Newsletter named “POORNIMA CONTRIVANCE" was released and the program

ended with vote of thanks by Mr. Abhinav Shekhar, Assistant Professor Poornima University.

After lunch back many Technical events like quiz, group discussion, CAD master were organized and

competitions/Activities like Sell Your Product, poster making competition were also organized. Students

participated in those activities with fun and enjoyment.

In the end Memento and Certificate had been distributed by Dr. Manoj Gopta, Provost, Dr. B.K. Sharma,

Principal, P.G.I. and Mr. Pratish Rawat, H.O.D. Department of Mechanical Engineering, Poornima

University to the students who got 1st and 2nd place in the various activities. Certificate had also been

provided to the students who have got scholarship from university. After prize and certificate distribution

Dr. Manoj Gopta, Provost, Poornima University addressed the students and encourages them for

performing better in upcoming semester. The program ended with Poornima Gaan by students of

Department.
