Introduction of the Key Note Speaker
He did his B.E. in Civil Engg. (He describes it as Civilization Engineering) and M.E.
(Environmental Engineering), both from SVNIT, Surat and Ph.D. in Air Pollution Control Technology
from JNTUK University. Worked as Director- Foreign Universities & Alumni Relations, JNTUK;
Head of the Dept. of Civil Engg.; Convener-Finishing School; Coordinator (on deputation)- IEG,
Government of A.P.; Officer-in-Charge of Examinations, Consultancy in-Charge Environmental Engg.
Training & Placement Officer, NSS Coordinator, Expert lectures at IISc., IITs, AU, NUS, Singapore,
AIT, Bangkok; CDAC, Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari; MCHRD, Hyderabad, NFCL, CFL, GVK,

Founder of Environmental Protection Society, an ENGO registered in 1992 and recognized as

He is a Member of Committee of APPCB, EGDt, AP; Scrutinizer of Solid Waste
Management System under Swacha Bharat for 21ULBs of West and East Godavari Districts.
He received several appreciation awards like Bharat Excellence Award-2002 by FFI, New
Delhi, Teacher of the Year- 2010 by JNTUK University; Vocational Excellence Award-2013 from
Rotary Club- Golden Jubilee; Service to Society through dedication in duty-2011 by E.G. District,
Best Teacher Award-2012, from JNTUK University based on students’ on-line evaluation and Award
for Excellence in Teaching-2013 by Indo Global Education Summit. He received a Rs. 1 lakh Cash
Award-2009 from IEG, Govt. of A.P. for his service to Special Training Programs for the SC/ST &
other socially and economically challenged sections of the society. He is the recipient of “Best
Teacher Award-2015” by Government of A.P., India. He is appointed as a Member-SEAC [State
Experts Appraisal Committee for A.P.], Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change,
Govt of India till 13.11. 2017. He is Expert for Technical & Economic Appraisal to HPCSAC
(High Power Committee for Swachha Andhra Corporation), Govt. of AP, w.e.f. 12.10.2015.

Summary of the Progarmme
He inspired to keep the environment healthy by not relating Professional life with the Personal life
and he also said to give importance to Personal life. He said to be friendly with the students so that the
interaction develops between the two. He explained the basic concepts of Engineering and made us to
see Engineering in different view.
Two Days National Seminar (11/02/2016&12/02/2016)
Day 1(11/02/2016)
Session I started with Registration/Tea/Breakfast from 9:00 am to 9:30 am followed by Inaugural
function from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.

At 10:30 am Key note address was given by Dr. KVSG Murali Krishna, BE, ME, PhD
who is presently Prof. of Civil Engineering, JNTUK, Kakinada, India. Founder of Environmental
Protection Society, an ENGO registered in 1992 and recognized as a Center for Training in Environmental
Protection by RGTM, a Government Organization, and Registered with FCRA, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt.
of India, and New Delhi. He is a Member of Committee of APPCB, EGDt, AP; Scrutinizer of Solid Waste
Management System under Swacha Bharat for 21ULBs of West and East Godavari Districts. He received

He delivered lecture on " Green Technologies for future Civil Engineering", he explained about the
conversion of salt water into fresh water using various methods like freezing etc.
After the lecture on " Green Technologies for future Civil Engineering", there was break of 1 hour from
12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.
Lunch Break
After the post lunch, Session II started at 1:30 pm followed by lecture on the topic "Environmental
Monitoring with focus on water quality index" by Dr. Santosh Sharad Kolte, BE, ME, PhD who is presently
Principal of Hansaba College of Engineering & Technology, Gujarat. who has worked on various projects like
water supply and sanitary Engineering, solid waste management & Waste minimization etc. he has around 13
national/international publications and has attended number of seminar, conferences, expert lecturers and has
organized programmes of technical expertise in the field of Environmental Engineering.
He talked about determination of water quality index and its development and types, and also various
parameters of the water quality. and how to compare the water quality index of the parameters with the standard
methods.
There was a Tea break of 15 minutes at 3:00 pm to 3:15pm followed by the Lecture on "New
Techniques in Pavement Design" by Mr. Vikas V. Thakar. BE, M.S(Pavements) from Pennsylvania State
University. He is presently Consulting Engineer, working as a Pavement Technologist in association with Dr.
Raj Dongre, of Dongre Laboratory Inc, Virginia, USA. He was also Research Assistant to Dr. David Anderson
during his period of Research Scholar. He has worked on Various projects on Pavement Design in India & USA.
he is the member of various committees in IRC, ASCE,STAC, Institute of Engineers etc.

Lecture by Mr. Vikas V. Thakar. BE, M.S(Pavements)
He gave an overview of the current scenario of Highway construction in India. He explained the design
concepts and pavement basics and what are the advance pavement construction techniques and also the
introduction to the new materials and technology used in pavement construction and how to evaluate and
maintain the pavement quality.
Day 2(12/02/2016)
Session III started with Tea/Breakfast from 9:00 am to 9:30 am followed by lecture on " Smart City"
by Mr. Manoj Barve. B.Com, CA, CMA, CPA. He is currently Consultant for India-Entry and Scale-up Support
for German companies. He has also worked as Director Finance, Vice President Finance and Chief Financial
Officer in various organizations. He is governing body member of Viswakarma Institute of Management and is
also associated with Jagruti Blind Girls School, Pune. he has also written various articles on finance, tax issues,
M&A, Private equity.

Lecture on " Smart City" by Mr. Manoj Barve. B.Com, CA, CMA, CPA.
He spoke on Smart Cities mission and opportunities for Civil Engineers which highlighted the various
challenges faced during urbanization and what is the mission and components of smart cities and the various
opportunities for industry and how to boost the industry and the possible solutions.
From 11:00 am to 12:30 pm Mr. Subhash Inamdar delivered lecture on "Opportunities and challenges in flow
piping technology in relation to Civil Engineering". Mr. Subhash Inamdar , B.Com, ICWA, is currently the
chairman of Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship Development & Research and Vice Chairman of Jnanada
Pratishthan.
He spoke on Opportunities and challenges in flow piping technology in relation to Civil Engineering and he gave
brief introduction for the course and the job opportunities in flow piping technology.
After the lecture on "Opportunities and challenges in flow piping technology in relation to Civil
Engineering". there was break of 45 minutes from 12:30 pm to 1:15 pm.
Lunch Break
After the post lunch, Session IV started at 1:15 pm followed by lecture on the topic "Why structures in
India have pre- mature death & methods for constructing durable concrete structures" by Mr. S.C. Gupta, BE,
who presently owns a consultancy company, giving consultancy service in various fields and also has small scale
industry for manufacturing of concrete admixtures etc. Earlier he worked in Indian Railways and was head
construction, Mumbai Metro and various projects were completed under his leadership.

He talked about the various reasons for the failure of hundreds of bridges and structures and how we
people are ignorant during the construction of the structures and what are various methods for constructing
durable concrete structures.
From 2:45pm to 3:15pm there was lecture on Concrete Technology by Dr. S.S. Jamka BE, ME,PhD,
Associate Professor of Applied Mechanics and Controller of Examinations, Govt. College of Engineering,
Aurangabad. He has Patents registered for "Apparatus for determining dimensions of aggregate particles used in
concrete" and "Titled method and apparatus for measuring characteristics of aggregates of concrete mass by
using digital image processing".He has published various research papers.
He enlightened the knowledge of Concrete technology. As per IS codes, he widened the knowledge of
properties of special aggregates and also about the concrete. . He explained the design concepts of mixed
proportion.
There was a Tea break of 15 minutes from 3:15pm to 3:30pm followed by Valedictory function where
all the guests were honored and certificates were distributed to the participants. Vote of thanks was delivered by
Prof. Milind Darade.
