Under this project, detailed engineering design, preparation of safeguards documents and preparation of BoQ, cost estimates and bidding documents of approximately 3800 meters of tunnels was undertaken for implementation either through direct financing or through PPP mode. For de-congestion of vehicle traffic in the state capital Shimla the following tunnels were studied and proposed for
implementation:-
1) Lift to Lakkar Bazar
(Idgah) having total length
350 meters approx. 2) List to Himfed Petrol-
Pump having total length
On the ToR, it is stated that detailed design was conducted for approximately 3800 metres of tunnels., However, for this PMC project, only 2660 metres, adding up 1) to 4), are proposed for the consultancy service. For Consultant’s thorough understanding on the Project features, the consultant would like

included in this contract.
DPR consultant under HPSRP-1 has prepared
detailed engineering design, safeguards
documents , BoQ, cost estimates and bidding
documents of tunnels in Shimla as mentioned in
section 6 Tor page 69.
Please note that the scope of current
consultancy is confined only to one tunnel i.e.
Sanjauli- Dhalli Tunnel having length of 160
