RENEGADE BLONDE
The Renegade Blonde is lively and dynamic akin to its creator. Brandon
Sieminski began brewing on his home stove-top, and rapidly moved
from a small operation into a full-blown brewing company in a handful
of years. His blonde, the Renegade, is a bottle conditioned Ale -- start-
ing with sharp flavor as a young brew, but moving toward a fruity flavor
after some time relaxing. It’s a dynamic, fresh taste that delivers some-
thing unique in every bottle.
A classic blonde ale has a lighter body and dry mouth finish. The
Renegade tips its hat to the classic, but has a character all its own. Dry
without being astringent, you won’t feel the need for a glass of water
after finishing. The body doesn’t feel heavy, but has enough character
to avoid the complaint some ales have of being watery. Strong charac-
ter and satisfying to drink. Stores well at 10°C but
shouldn’t be left on the shelf too long.

HOW IT LOOKSPours a pale yellow with a thick pillowy head that
remains prominent while drinking. The Renegade has
strong effervescence, bubbly in any glass.
HOW IT SMELLSThe strong, bitter hop aroma on the top, with toasty
malt hiding underneath. A hint of rind and bitter spice
peek out from the bottom of the profile. The fruity
scents are elusive in the aroma and in the taste. Take
a nice long inhale.
FOOD PAIRINGThe bitterness and toasty elements will pair well with
whitefish, and the lemon oils or juice that garnish it.
Fresh greens like spinach and butter lettuce can make
for a tasty side salad.
HOW IT TASTESThe crisp malt flavor and bitter tone dominate the
first taste of the Renegade -- masking the more
subdued flavors, but slow drinks will reveal them. The
subtle fruit tone is hiding somewhere in the back-
yard, coming through on some tastes and not others.
Let your bottle hang out in the cellar for a week to
leaven the hoppy flavor, so it won’t feel overwhelm-
ing. The crisp taste is refreshing and perfect for
relaxing on a hot patio or in front of a roaring fire.
