Pressure retaining valves GEMÜ N086, N186 and N786

The pressure retaining valves GEMÜ N086 and N186 are used to provide a constant back pressure in process plant. They can also be used as pressure relief valves to reduce pressure peaks. Due to their minimal deadleg design, types N086 and N186 are particularly well suited to ultra pure water applications. The product range has been expanded to include the pressure retaining valve GEMÜ N786.

Pressure relief valves GEMÜ N085 and N185

Plant and piping systems are protected against gauge pressure and pressure peaks using pressure relief valves from the GEMÜ N085 and N185 series. A third pipe spigot facilitates installation in the main pipe through which any overpressure is relieved. Due to the minimal deadleg and fl ow-effi cient design of the valve body, there is only a mini-mal pressure loss through the valve.

Pressure reducers GEMÜ N082, N182 and N782

GEMÜ pressure reducers are used to reduce the pressure to a specifi ed value, which can be conveniently set using a set screw.The inlet pressure is reduced to the required outlet pressure utilizing the pressure diff erential created.

GEMÜ pressure control valves are used in plant which requires a constant operating or system pressure. They control the upper pressure limits, prevent pressure peaks and/or balance out pressure fl uctuations. Depending on the function, 3 diff erent designs are available.

Pressure retaining valve / pressure reducer

• The working pressure can be very easily adjusted using a set screw and secured with the integrated lock nut. If required, the setting that has been made can be lead sealed.

• The fl ow-effi cient design of the valve body ensures good fl ow rate values.

• Control errors are kept to a minimum due to the large control face and the spiral spring.

• The actuator is hermetically separated from the medium

• Valve adjustments can also be made under working pressure.

Pressure retaining valves GEMÜ N086, N186 and N786

Functional principleThe pressure retaining valves GEMÜ N086, N186 and N786 are used to provide a constant back pressure in process plant.If the inlet pressure rises above a preset value, the diaphragm is raised against the spring force. The valve opens and the excess pressure can escape into the outlet line.If the pressure on the inlet side is reduced, the valve closes as the spring force pushes the diaphragm against the seal seat. The spring force can be adjusted as required using a set screw and secured with the lock nut.

Pressure reducers GEMÜ N082, N182 and N782

Functional principleThe pressure reducers GEMÜ N082, N182 and N782 ensure that a constant outlet pressure is maintained in process plant utilizing the pressure diff erential.If the pressure rises on the outlet side, the spring force is lower and the valve closes as the spring is raised. The pressure is reduced until the spring force and the outlet pressure are the same.If the pressure falls, the valve opens as the spring force presses against the diaphragm surface via the control aperture. The outlet pressure can be read off a diaphragm-protectedpressure gauge and the spring force adjusted using a set screw as required.

Pressure relief valves GEMÜ N085 and N185

Functional principleThe pressure relief valves GEMÜ N085 and N185 protect the plant and the piping system against gauge pressure and reduce pressure peaks. A third pipe spigot facilitates installation in the main pipe. If the pressure increases, the spring is raised and the valve opens. The pressure is reduced to the preset value and can escape via the third pipe spigot into an adjacent pipe.If the pressure falls, the spring force presses the diaphragm in the direction of the seal seat and it is closed. The spring force can be adjusted as required using a set screw.

Water treatment

Note:In accordance with directive 97/23/EC, article 9, fl uids are divided into 2 groups. For fl uids in fl uid group 1, GEMÜ pressure control valves may only be used if, at the maximum permitted temperature, the vapour pressure does not exceed normal atmospheric pressure (1013 mbar) by more than 0.5 bar.
