Dear St. Francis family, The war against covid19 pandemic is almost over, as some lock down restrictions have been lifted and churches of all denominations and beliefs are starting to open up giving us all back the freedom to express our faith once again to the one God, the source of every life and existence. I attended a little gathering of pastors and minis-ters with our city mayor of Lancaster, a week ago, as the city has given us some face masks for our congregations, it was nice faith sharing with our mayor and other faith ministers about this world wide covid19 pandemic experience. Sharing with each other confirms about what Pope Francis shared in his homily at the height of covid19 pandemic in Italy which he said “We have realized that we are all on the same boat being tossed by this pandemic waves and storms which we find ourselves disoriented, afraid and lost.” Though the government has given the go signal to reopen business, restaurants, malls and churches yet we are slowly opening our doors following the city and diocesan directives considering that the pandemic is not over and the world has not recov-ered yet completely. Following the directive, we are o n phase 2. We have just started officially our daily Masses Tues-day May 26, but we do not have regular weekend Masses yet. We will welcome our RCIA and RI-CA faith formation candidates to receive the sacra-ments of Initiation into the catholic church. Next week we will celebrate the sacrament of Con-firmation in small groups in the church as social distancing allows. I am sorry that we can not go back to our normal gatherings as a community in the church. I will continue to pray for all of you. I have been missing you all. Soon the pandemic will be over as we con-tinue to cooperate by following the shelter in place restrictions in trying to limit the spread of the vi-rus, since we don’t have control over it instead it’s the virus controlling us. May God through St. Francis continue to protect and keep you in His care. Amen.

Fr. Manny

Padre Manny

Religious Education

Lancaster, TX Page 5

Dear parents: Regarding new registra-tions, parents must commit to be the main catechists of their children and somehow begin to familiarize them-

selves with virtual communication. Children currently attending classes will be enrolled first, and then enroll-ments will be opened to others. Mrs. Luisa Negret, from Pflaum, will keep sending the 5-minute video session for

upcoming Sundays that will be pub-lished on our website under Religious Education.

From the Decree issued by Bishop Burns on 5/18/2020, we are still in “PHASE ONE”; we will slowly transition into “PHASE TWO” beginning with daily Mass on Tuesday May 26, 2020. The celebration of the Sacra-ments of Initiation will resume soon; first, I will schedule Adults and Minors that would have received sacraments on the Easter Vigil, then Confirmation students and later

First Communion Students. These masses will be cele-brated in accordance with the ordinances of our civil and ecclesiastical authorities, which will require limited and re-stricted attendance, safe distancing, and wear face covering. For the sacrament of reconciliation and Infant’s Bap-tisms you must called the office to schedule them.

Have a Blessed Sunday!

programarlos. ¡Tengan un bendecido domingo!
