Read to Achieve Legislation

House Bill 950/S.L. 2012-142 Section 7A and House Bill 230 require school districts in North Carolina to provide summer Reading Camps for students who qualify using the following guidelines:

• 72 hours of reading instruction

• Minimum of 3 weeks

• Taught by compensated, licensed teachers
