This report was created in order to analyze data from the Internet monitoring about Apple Worldwide Developer Conference 2014. The event took place at Moscone West in San Francisco, California on June 2nd-6th 2014. It was the 25th anniversary of WWDC. Within those 5 days Apple announced plenty of pretty amazing new innovations including iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite. We examined the social media in search for contents related to WWDC2014 and general mood about the event. With Brand24 analyzing tool we collected over 56k mentions from over 2.5k domains and subdomains. Most of the Internet users had positive attitude towards the event and Apple’s announcements. We distinguished 9 most talked-about Apple’s announcements on WWDC2014. Unsurprisingly the most popular were iOS and OS X updates. Internet users also discussed about new programming language, Swift, which appealed to the audience. On the other hand, they talked about their expectations on what would be announced on WWDC. Two most anticipated devices were iPhone 6 and iWatch.

Executive summary

This report was created in order to analyze data from the Internet monitoring about

Apple Worldwide Developer Conference. 2014 The event took place at Moscone West in San

Francisco, California on June 2nd-6th 2014. It was the 25th anniversary of WWDC. Within those

5 days Apple announced plenty of pretty amazing new innovations including iOS 8 and OS X

Yosemite. We examined the social media in search for contents related to WWDC2014 and

The biggest disappointments of WWDC2014 Even though, social media users were generally enthusiastic about the

conference, some were not really pleased with the event and Apple’s

announcements.

The biggest disappointment was the lack of new iPhone and iWatch introduction.

Internet users also complained about some presentations on WDDC. Some

accused Apple of copying Android and Blackberry in iOS 8. In addition, they

faulted Apples for the lack of new hardware.

• Over 56k mentions about WWDC2014 were collected from social media

• The number of mentions was the highest at the first day of the conference

and it slowly fell

• The number of mentions related to brand Apple increased by 20%

• General attitudes towards the event were positive

• People especially liked iOS 8 and OS X 10.10 announcements and those

updates were the most talked-about topics in social media during WWDC

• Main reason of dissatisfaction was the lack of new iPhone and iWatch

introduction
