Rally to stop construction of kxl pipeline

Rally to stop construction of KXL pipeline The closest target we have in the Seattle area that is directly linked to the Keystone XL pipeline is Michels Corporation. Michels Corporation is the company currently building the southern leg of the Keystone XL pipeline through Texas and Oklahoma, and they are likely to get the contract for building the northern leg of the Keystone XL pipeline if Obama approves it. Michels Corporation built the first Keystone I pipeline from Alberta, Canada to Cushing, Oklahoma, in 2010, and the pipeline has already leaked 30 times. Michels' headquarters are in Wisconsin, but they also do business in Washington State and are owners of the local Pilchuck Contractors. They have offices in Kirkland and Olympia. www.michels.us By pressuring all the companies, investors, and financiers that are associated with, and profit from the Keystone XL pipeline, we will have a better chance of stopping it. As part of the Stop Tar Sands Profiteers! week of action, we'll gather outside Michels' Kirkland offices at 11 AM on Monday, March 18th, to demand Michels stop building the Keystone XL pipeline, which is putting our future and that of our children and grandchildren in ever greater peril. www.tarsandsblockade.org/weekofaction If you are working and can get an hour off before lunch time, please do join us as well. Make and bring your own signs: Tar sands kill Pipelines spill! There are no jobs on a dead planet! Michels! Stick to wind. Drop the tar sands! No KXL Pipeline! We demand 100% renewable! Etc... When: Monday, March 18 th @ 11AM Where: 6725 116th Ave NE, Kirkland, WA 98033 Facebook event page: www.facebook.com/events/490061621048217
