FROM THE ENGINE DRIVER

It’s been a while since I last had the opportunity to write a message in our school newsletter. It was, in fact, Term 4 2020 to be exact. I must admit that I was looking forward to switching off for a few weeks and simply enjoying the simpler things in life, including reading, shopping, walking along the beach, playing with my grandsons and catching up with my family in Adelaide. I managed to achieve all of these and a great deal more. I hope that all of our families found the time to reconnect with their loved ones, and create some special memories along the way. Although we have started the school year with new guidelines for COVID check-ins and restrictions on allowing parents into our school, I feel that this will be a far more positive year for everyone. I am very excited about the changes we have made heading into 2021, and I feel that we are in a position to grow and truly become “The Best in the West.” I would like to welcome our new staff, students and their families to our very special place. We are a very caring school community and I am proud of the way in which we embrace the uniqueness of every single student. I always make it my mission at the beginning of every school year to learn the names of every new enrolment and a little bit about them and their personalities. I am confident that I can now name every student in Kindergarten, especially the boys as we only have three! I have two precious comments made by Kindergarten students which I would like to share with you. “Wow! Mrs Pascoe you live in the playroom!” said Willow as she walked into my office. “Hello Mrs Casper. I keep mixing up your name and I can’t say Mrs Pascoe”. It’s Ok Zara, I don’t mind being called Mrs Casper” . The innocence of children is what makes my job so special. Kerry-Sue Pascoe Principal
