From the Engine Driver

Wow! Great work everyone...attendance is up again. Keep it going. Can we make it to 6 classes all in the green?

I am looking forward to seeing everyone dressed up for the Book Week parade on Friday. It promises to be another wonderful event for Railway Town Public School students and teachers.

Yesterday, a film crew from the Department of Education spent the day in our school interviewing Peter Macbeth, our Director, myself and the teaching staff. The main focus of their questioning was related towards the impact teachers and leaders have on the development of staff and students. The footage of this filming will be edited and later shown through the Department of Education's website to promote the impact of quality teaching, leadership and professional development in NSW schools. Feeling like a film star!!

On a final note, I would like to wish our Barrier Athletics representatives (Henry Siemer and Cohen Clavel) the best of luck on Friday. Travel safely to Mildura and I know that you will represent Broken hill and our school with pride.

Have wonderful week…

Kerry-Sue Pascoe Principal

Can you help in the Canteen?

We desperately need volunteers to help in the canteen otherwise we will not be able to offer this service for our students. Ideally we need

two volunteers each day. If you are able to help, please leave your details with the school office.

The program educates children on what it means to be a responsible pet owner and how to live safely with dogs.

Pet educators and their suitability-tested dogs visit schools across NSW to present this program using multimedia tools, role play, song and story-telling.

Children can also engage with the program by visiting the interactive Victor and Victoria’s Pet Town online at www.pettown.nsw.gov.au or by downloading the tablet App that is available free in App stores.

Healthy, fresh food from our Garden in the Canteen

Mrs McInerney harvested some healthy green spinach from our school garden this week.

Mrs Wilmore worked some magic in the Canteen and baked some super healthy quiches that were full of vegies including our lovely fresh spinach.

Keep an eye out at the canteen for more healthy and yummy options made with our own vegetables.

Come into the Canteen and buy healthy food and maybe win a prize!

There are only four weeks left to get an entry into the Healthy Food Promotion at the Canteen.

Just purchase two great healthy items and receive a gift, then go into the main draw to win some great prizes!
