Although many carriers and private operators are migrating their networks to packet technologies to lower costs and support IP-based services, there remains an enormous installed base of devices that use TDM, analog or low speed data connections, which depend on PDH and SDH/SONET transport. At the same time, the rapid introduction of Ethernet equipment creates a special challenge for network operators, who maintain extensive legacy TDM infrastructure and need to economically manage a myriad of interfaces, protocols, topologies, and media.

For close to 30 years, RAD Data Communications has been working closely with its worldwide customers in various industry sectors, to address their multiservice access and First Mile requirements with customized system solutions that provide flexibility, efficiency and carrier-class reliability.

RAD’s rich AXCESS+ portfolio enables cost-effective service extension over copper, fiber and wireless access. The product lineup also provides aggregation and traffic hand-off to SDH/SONET and packet switched networks (PSNs), and smooths the migration to packet access without having to replace either existing customer-located devices or central office racks.

RAD is the preferred communications vendor for many carriers, service providers, utilities, private network operators, and system integrators around the world. With the help of an in-house team of network specialists and 250 certified RAD partners in more than 150 countries, we harness our technological excellence and customer commitment to deliver high quality, low TCO solutions and to ensure our customers are completely satisfied with their decision to rely on RAD.

• Economical migration path to next-generation networks and services with future-proof solutions supporting multiple generations simultaneously, so that the same access and aggregation devices are used throughout the migration process

• Easy integration of Ethernet/IP-based services and equipment over existing SDH/SONET installed base without forklift upgrades to maximize savings and avoid service interruptions

• Ethernet services delivered over PSNs and TDM cores using any available access connections — copper, PDH, fiber, and wireless; single-box aggregation solutions work opposite multiple CPE types

• Reduce costs and increase efficiency by combining legacy services with new Ethernet applications over the same link; ensure service continuity for legacy TDM applications and equipment even after SDH/SONET networks are replaced

• Circuit emulation solutions feature TDMoIP technology, an industry standard developed and patented by RAD, without compromising service quality or latency levels

• Advanced clock recovery functionality to overcome packet delay, delay variation and packet loss inaccuracies; support differentiated quality of service (QoS) over packet transport using multi-priority traffic management, end-to-end OAM and performance monitoring

• RADview-EMS management system enables network operators to control network elements and functions remotely
