BriCom’s mission is to improve communications among mobile workers and first responders using the power of the internet.

This technology enables two way radio users to interoperate with other devices, including cell phones, laptops, PDA’s, and other two way radios, truly implementing unified communications.

Our solutions break down barriers between different spectrum bands and disparate devices. Importantly, radio users can continue to operate their legacy equipment and still benefit from the internet’s flexibility and scale.

In Addition, our product line includes site linking solutions which allow users to connect sites regardless of location and distance between site.

BriCom Solutions was founded in 2006 and is located in Saddle Brook, NJ

Q & A1.) Q: What does the BriCom product suite allow me to do?

A: BriCom’s software and hardware together are a complete, worldwide, real-time PTT communications platform for mobile individuals, small business, global enterprise, and publio service. It will let you talk to/from anyone using PTT software or PTT hardware appliances.

2.) Q: Where will the service work? Are there any limitations to where I can use it?

A: Quite simply, anywhere. All you need is an internet connection or private IP network delivering 14.4kps or greather bandwidth. This can be obtained anywhere over many different mediums. As long as you are connected you can communicate via voice PTT, anywhere in the world.

3.) Q: I get my internet from WiFi, can I use a WiFi connection and walk around while I talk?

A: Yes, WiFi is a great way to obtain a connection

4.) Q: My internet is provided to me by my cellular telephone wireless company, can I utilize this connection and talk while driving or walking around a substitution for voice telephone minutes or Nextel type Push-to-talk?

A: Yes, cellular and wireless ISP’s are suitable for use. Legacy data modes usch as GPRS and CDPD, and EVDO, 1xRTT are also supported, Satellite is a fine choice as well.

Q & A (cont.)5.) Q: I have older 2-way rados that are in a box of junk we used before our company had cellular phones. Can I re-use these radios for my business and connect them to the BriCom equipment even through they were purchased long before BriCom platform was possible?

A: Any 2-way radio make or model is compatible with SiteCAST and/or safetyNET. Simply purchase the correct cable for the equipment.

6.) Q: If I have 2-way radios in different locations or in use by different work teams, can I link them together and “connect the dots” to control my mobile coverage and costs so that my employees can communicate effectively and affordably?

A: Yes, 2-way radio systems on any band, signaling format, or mode can be linked to any other 2-way radio systems with an ordinary internet connection. This can also afford the operator “interoperability with the other radio systems.

7.) Q: I have a “leased” telephone line or circuit that runs from my dispatch center to the radio base station at our tower and/or rooftop. The leased line current costs us $800 a month from the telephone company. Can I use the internet or my company’s private IP network instead and cancel my $800 a month bill?

A: Yes, BriCom’s product line allows for the easy and effective replacement of wireline leased circuits also known as Bell 3002 and RNTC. These lines can be eliminated for cost savings on dispatch consoles, remote receivers, traffic light systems, railroad track switches, broadcast radio and television links, or wherever leased lines may be found.

Q & A (cont.)8.) Q: Our company was thinking of purchasing 2-way radios to replace our cellular phones. Aside from being very expensive and not allowing us to talk very far or clear, the radios seem like too little for too much. If I use your iWalkie software with my PDA’s and Smartphones can I give my employees 2-way radio and all of the benefits of the internet like maps, messaging, and point of sale functionality to help me gain better value in a portable communications device?

A: Yes iWalkie can be combined with other internet services giving an end user very rich enterprise communication capabilities – including iWalkie, our IP soft radio that will talk seamlessly on any of the 7 continents.

9.) With all of the budget cuts and red tape, our police department is very slow to react in getting officers the equipment we need to communicate and do our job effectively. Can my fellow officers and I purchase the BriCom equipment and get the benefit of it quickly without hooking it directly to city or county equipment?

A: Yes, since all you need is a regular duty radio, its is possible for you to improve communication for fellow first responders without the direct involvement or your department. BriCom’s equipment can interface to a user’s radio- allowing for quicker setup and independent control and operation.

10.) Q: How secure is the BriCom platform?

A: Our platform contains coded security mechanisms designed to protect your voice traffic. From the front end user interface, a password, username, and unique coded ID are required to enter your system to begin speaking and listening. On the backend across any network, 32-128bit coding protects the packed GSM frames encoded via GSM 6.19 codec library. When planning your security level requirements, remember that security is only as strong as the weakest link. Always b aware that if your traditional 2-way radio traffic is in the FM mode your voice is being, re-broadcast t or repeated over regular FM radio signals. These can be heard with any common radio receiver.
