TOPICS OF INTEREST

INTEREST  The impact of color in a environment is what I am interested in exploring. Studies have shown that color has a impact. The use of color is a powerful tool used to signal a action, influence mood and communicate a story that may be associated to a past experience through memory. Adults may see or be impacted differently in comparison to a child who might perceive the use of color in a different way since children respond better to bright colors that grasps their attention.

Color stimulates people to open up our senses to apply meaning for understanding. Color has the capability to alter behavior with a persons spirit, grab a persons attention, create a mood, enhance clarity, establish a code, label things in nature and differentiate objects. I am drawn to the story of the experience that a individual may have in color environments because people forget how to feel and think like a kid.

PROTOTYPE GOALS

•  Entering different color spaces allows the persons to experience different emotions

•  6 emotional feelings: joy anger sadness fear pleasure and guilt •  6 main colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple •  Different emotions relate to memories and perceptions of culture

and legends •  End outcome: The use of color used to open up our senses and

FEEDBACK

Feedback from other students was positive when looking it at visually because of all the bright colors. There was a strong sense of curiosity in what it was.

Concerns were made with what objects would be in these color environments. “Consider just having color field in a room verse having objects in the room. The use of lights to change the of tone and the shade of the color would impact the person different from using color to help identify and define the objects in the space.”

The relationship of going from one colored room to the next was also established in problem solving because the relationship would give the colors more meaning in understanding the experience.
