LONG COURSE WEEKENDFRIDAY 8 - SUNDAY 10 JULY 2016 • TENBY
2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile run (For individual see pages 10-13)
Pembrokeshire plays host annually to one of the most difficult triathlons in the UK, the Long Course Weekend. The event, which was crowned the 220 Triathlon Race of the Year in 2015, is a unique event lasting 3 days, and accommodating some of the best triathlon talent in the UK and the world.
To kick off the weekend, on Friday evening the LCW athletes have the Wales Swim to tackle - a 2.4 mile open water swim on North Beach, Tenby. Saturday sees them heading out into the Welsh countryside on an undulating 112 mile course past enthusiastic crowds, and giving them the opportunity to try and claim the King of the Hill title in Saundersfoot. On Sunday, the athletes have the ‘small’ task of the 26.2 mile Wales Marathon to complete. If they can cross the line within the cut off, they will be presented with the final piece of their puzzle - the Long Course Weekend medal.
Of last year’s 700 athletes who tried to complete the whole weekend, only around half could manage all three days. Will you be able to complete the Long Course Weekend?
General entries are now SOLD OUT, however our VIP Charity Entry is available for £249. To find out more information and to enter visit lcwwales.com
