Material• A 200/210 duvet cover in printed fabric or 2.10m of fabric for furniture of large width• A 240/240 duvet cover in solid colour fabric or tone fabric or 4m of fabric forfurniture of large width• 4.80m of fl eece • A matching sewing thread

Method1. Cut the seams of the duvet covers. You need one side of 2m by 2m printed fabric and two sides of 2 x 2.40m by 2.40 solid colour fabric

2. From the solid colour fabric cut :• one x 22cm / 240cm • two x 22cm / 220cm • one x 22cm / 200cm • 7 cm wide strips which must frame the border of your quilt, 9.70m with seams.

3. Sew the 22cm strips on the sides of the printed fabric as in (1) (2) below.This will be the top of your quilt.

4. Cut the fl eece in half, 2 x 2.40m.Place the two pieces edge to edge and piece them together with a zig zag stitch pattern. Width 7mm, length 1.5mm, standard foot F.Cut the excess to form a square of 2.40m / 2.40m.

7. Use your iron to fold down 1 cm on each side of the 7cm precut strips.

5. Place the fl eece on the underside of the fabric forming the top of your quilt and hold it with safety pins all over the area.

6. Take the second side of the solid colour fabric duvet cover (240 / 240cm) and lay it on the other side of the fl eece. Hold the three layers together with safety pins.

8. Lay your strip at one cm from the edge of your quilt, sew at 1cm from the edge, in the fold, with the 7mm strips on each end and fold down one cm before sewing.

10. Sew a star stitch, every 50cm approximately, all around the quilt to hold the three layers together, fabric-fl eece-fabric.

9. Fold down the underside and hold with straight stitching. Repeat with the four sides.
