MATERIALS:- 6120 m/6696 yd of aran weight [17-18 st/10cm (4")] yarn. Sample shown was crochetedusing 72 balls of elann.com Super Cable Aran

[100% Mercerized Cotton, 18 st/ 10 cm (4"), 50g (1.75 oz) ball, 85 m/93 yd]- 4.5 mm (US 7) Crochet Hook- Crochet Split Ring Markers

Gauge:1 Hexagon measures 18 cm (7") on each side.

Motif (Hexagon Spiral)Make 46 – each one as follows:R 1: Ch 6, join with sl st to first ch to form aring. Base ring.R 2: Ch4, dc in ring, *ch 1, dc in ring, rep from* 9 more times. End ch1, join in 3rd ch of begch4.R 3: *Ch3, sl st in the first ch of ch3, sl st in dc.Rep from * 11 more times. 12 picots formed.R 4: Working behind last round and into basering. Ch3, sl st in between next 2 dc’s, *ch 6,skip 2 dc, sc 1 in base ring between next 2 dc’s,rep from * 4 more times. Ch 6, skip 2dc, sc intofirst sl st of round. Mark last sc of each roundwith a marker.

R 5: *Ch 6, sc 3 into next ch6 arch, rep from *5 more times.R 6: *Ch 6, sc 3 into next ch6 arch, sc 1 intoeach of next 2 sc. Skip last sc. Assembly:

Joining 2 Motifs:With right sides facing each other, beginningfrom a corner sc, use yarn needle to sew, insert

needle from the sc of the first motif facing youthrough the corresponding corner of 2nd motif.And then, insert needle into next sc of the 2ndmotif and through the next sc of 1st motif).Carefully match sts.

Join Strips of Motifs (A):Sew 7 motifs into strips. Make 4 strips ofmotifs.

Join Strips of Motifs (B):

Sew 6 motifs into strips. Join half motif at eachend. Make 3 strips of motifs. Assemble A andB by order of A B A B A B A. Two straightsides are for top and bottom.

Edging:With right side facing you, start by joining yarnat top corner st with a row of sc (along warped

side).

Row 1 (sc row): Ch 1, sc1 into the same st; scaround entire outer edge. Work 3 sc in every

corner sc. Sl st into 1st sc.Row 2-4: Rep Row 1 sc row.

For the following rows, work only 2 sides and bottom end. Leave the top end with 4 sc rows

only.

Row 5(dc-2sc row): (from top corner st.) Ch 5,

skip next 2 sc, *dc into next sc, ch 2. Rep from* to the other top corner st. End with a dc. Turn.Row 6: Rep Row 5 (dc-2sc row).
