Analysis of questionnaireThe biggest age range is from 17 to 20. This means we need to made an 18 rated film. Research into the BBFC will need to be done so we know

what makes a film an 18.From the start we were thinking of doing some sort of psychological movie and to our luck we found that the two most favourable genres

were psychological horrors and thrillers so we will stick to our initial ideas however we will need to do more research into what makes a

psychological film effective. We found out from our questionnaire that our audience finds flashbacks very effective, so we will take this into account and build our film around flashbacks and memories to connect the audience with the character in

the film. Also building up atmosphere was picked often. Therefore research into how atmosphere is built up with music or editing will be effective in our research so we can include it in our film effectively.

However there was also a contrast as some people also enjoyed action packed from the start, so maybe we could use our flashbacks to build up

tension then the action could start as soon as the flashbacks finish. Which would be targeting a wider audience.

Violence wasn’t well liked as we can see, unless it looked realistic or there wasn’t too much of it. So the violence in our film will be kept at a

minimum. The Uninvited, Dream House and The Devil Inside were the most popular movies, we will do these 3 films in our analysis to see what makes them effective and the story plots used, narratives and how the characters are

portrayed so we can embed some of the ideas into our film.

The characteristics that supposedly make someone scary is if they are crazy, hair and makeup, their eyes and the way they talk. So we will need to find out how scary people are portrayed in movies and what makes them stay in the

back of your mind. However all the choices were found to be important so we will try and perfect them all.

A crazy and delusional person followed by crime was the most chosen for what our audience wanted to see in a psychological film. Therefore we will base our

film around a person who could be or is seen as someone who is crazy and maybe include a crime narrative/plot in it.

The best location for a killing scene was a bedroom, followed by a normal bedroom and a basement. Location of an old house may be hard to find as it is

dangerous and most abandoned houses are closed off which doesn’t allow entry.

Our last questions shows that isolation was the biggest fear for 80% of our audience, we found this question very valuable as psychological films use horror that the audience can relate to and are actually afraid of as it could

happen. Therefore we will try to include this in our film to make it even more effective.
