I used the blogging site wordpress.com to upload all of my work, from the research and

planning stage up to the final evaluation. I found it a useful way of presenting my work

and it is very simple to use. The blog is a much better way of showing work than paper/hard copies. It can be edited and shown to anyone.

I used the popular video site youtube.com to upload videos. It was very easy to set

up an account. I had the option to upload the videos from the computer or I could

upload them directly from my smartphone via wifi. I could then embed the YouTube

video directly onto my blog.

I used PowerPoint to create presentations for my focus

group and mood boards. I also used it to create my product.

I used Word to create my initial questionnaire and to

type up the results.

I used Adobe Photoshop CS5 to edit my photos. It took a while to get the hang on

but once I did it allowed me to create some very professional looking images. I

used this software to remove the background from the front cover and

double page spread images.

I used the photo editing software Picasa to edit the images for my contents page.

These were lower quality images and only needed a small amount of editing.

I used Windows Movie Maker to create a video to answer some of the evaluation questions. I could then directly upload them to my

blog or to YouTube.

I used SlideShare to publish my PowerPoint presentations

online. It was really easy to upload them and then I

embedded them directly to my Wordpress blog.

I used Prezi.com as an alternative way of presenting my research and

planning. This is an online-based software and I could embed my

Prezi onto my blog.

I used wordle.com as a way of presenting my findings from my questionnaires. I could

save them as an image then post on my blog.

I used Internet Explorer and Google Chrome as

web browsers.

I used Facebook to ask my target audience for feed

back on my final product.

Page 13: Question Six

I used box.com to store all of my work. It is a form of cloud storage; an online memory stick. I uploaded all of my documents to here so that I could access them in school and at

home. I found this really useful.

Page 14: Question Six

I used the Lumix G2 Digital SLR camera to take the photos for my

front cover and double page spread. This produced really high

quality images which meant I could manipulate them easily

without any pixilation or blurring.

I used the Praktica LM6503 camera to take photos for my contents page. This produces lower quality images but this

was fine as they were only small.

Page 15: Question Six

I used a BlackBerry 9380 to take videos of my focus group and ideal reader. Being a smartphone I was able to upload the videos directly

to YouTube via wifi.

I used the computers in school to complete work as well as my laptop at home.

In conclusion, I have learnt a lot about technologies in the process of making

my magazine. I have developed my skills when using software. I also had

to choose the correct hardware to use.
