The minutes of the meeting held on May 22"d, 2013 were confirmed with the following
amendments:
Regarding the resolution on the four-year undergraduate programme discussions were held'
Amendments to the resolution were considered and adopted. However, the discussions remained
inconclusive on whethef or not the resolution be sent across to the university authorities and' ifso, with what content and message. With regard to the four year undergraduate programme the
following resolution was adoPted:
.The Department council of the Department of Political Science expresses deep misgiving at the
enactment of the Four Year Undergraduate Programme without consulting the Departmental
Statutory Committees. In spite of reservations, the Department of Political Science has
contributed to the framing of the syllabus for pedagogical reasons. The Departmental council is
seriously concemed about the implications of this for the Masters programme in the University
Depaftments.'

l' It was agreed that the Internal Assessments of the l't and 3'd semesters should take placein the preceding week set aside by the University carendar forproject work, etc.2' A committee to look into the adoption of unfair means in the MA entrance exams wasconstituted with Madhulika Banerjee, Ashok Acharya and N. Sukumar as members. Thecommittee will report to the DC on such cases r"f"rrld to it.3' Rekha saxena agreed to offer an optional course to MA 3'd semester on comparative
