I can live healthy with Diabetes by… Slowly improving the way I eat A Healthier Diet: will reduce my risk for complications such as heart disease and stroke. Healthier eating includes slowly changing my current diet with a wide variety of foods such as: Water, Fish, Beans, Poultry, Vegetables, Lean meats, Whole grains, Non-fat dairy products, and Whole Fruits (blueberries, grapes/raisins, apples, pears, bananas, and grapefruit). I will remember that changing toward a better and healthier diet takes time. I must be patient. Maintaining good habits over a long period of time takes patience. I will make this possible by trying to take a moment every day to review what I eat on a daily basis and consider switching things little-by- little with healthier options.
