QBS Construction WLL (QBS), a company organized under the laws of the State of Qatar, and a member of the QBS International group of companies, is pleased to present you this Company Profile.

This Company Profile is divided into three parts that, altogether, should provide you an overall picture of QBS’s technical qualifications.

The first part, PROFILE, provides a corporate overview of QBS along with a description of QBS’s various areas of competency. The applicable corporate compliance documentation as well as our organization’s organogram are also provided in this part.

The second part, TECHNICAL STRENGTH, provides a general audit of QBS’s plant and equipment from which required resources can be mobilized for local projects.

The QBS International group of companies is a specialized design-build firm headquartered in Pennsauken, New Jersey, USA and one of the leading specialists in delivering medium scale infrastructure projects.

With an international track record of diversified projects ranging from highways and infrastructure, road works, bridges, tunnels, airports, marine ports, dams and retention ponds to health care facilities, residential and commercial development projects spanning over 3 continents, QBS brings to any project a wealth of engineering experience and construction expertise forged in diverse jurisdictions from the United States to the United Arab Emirates.

Notwithstanding our size and global reach, QBS is a hands on organization. Everyone on our teams willingly gets “into the trenches” to get the job done properly and fulfill the mission upon which our group of companies was founded; to deliver....

QBS was set up as a local company in the State of Qatar in 2008. In this short period we have been fortunate to secure work under contract worth over a billion Qatari Riyals and are currently in the process of expanding our local operations to meet the increasing demand in this region for qualified local contractors.

QBS is qualified as a Grade A contractor with the Public Works Ministry and has been approved by the PWA’s Street Lighting Department and by Kahramaa for hydro-electric works.

QHSE

Quality is in our name and part of our mission; with every task we execute it is our point of departure and ultimate destination. Arriving at this destination on time and within budget, safely and with minimum environmental impact is how we measure success at QBS.

Given the primacy of Quality and HSE in everything we do, our management system is designed to ensure that the QHSE function is independent from the operation and production side of the of the business. A member of the Steering Committee is charged with ultimate responsibility for our corporate-wide QHSE program and the reporting lines within the QHSE team run independently of those estabished in our operation. The intent is not to create a separate policing body, as enforcement of our QHSE policies, plans and procedures are everyone’s responsibility, but rather to ensure that QHSE considerations are analyzed and resolved by a specialized team independent of other considerations and influences.

QBS has implemented a rigorous QHSE induction and continued education program to foster a QHSE aware culture. This program and all the processes and procedures that have been implemented to effect our corporate QHSE policies are subject to regular oversight and audit.

QBS’s Quality and HSE management system are certified compliant with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001: 2015 and OHSAS 18001: 2007 by Bureau Veritas.

Road and Infrastructure of Government Residential Division Project in South Wukair - Packages 2, 3 and 4 (Interim Measures - P08, P09 and P10) (QB036 - P2, P03 and P04). The project is spread over an area of approximately 1327.37 Ha and will provide around 3508 single family villas, 161 single family mixed use, 247 utility plots, 17 commercial plots, 16 schools, 6 government reserved plots, 1 hospital, 32 mosques, 45 parks, 2 unallocated plot without PIN,5 parking, 2 sports/recreation, over 348 open spaces/ green areas and a Grand Masjid.

Development of Commercial Road to Wakrah Main Road Package 5, Wakrah Stadium Associated Temporary Road Works (DS136-05). The project consists of a road network in varying corridor ranging from 20m to 84m in Wakrah to provide connectivity to the Wakrah Stadium. The general scope of work includes but not limited to general site clearance works; roadwork’s inclusive of flexible pavements, pre-cast concrete block pavements, tactile pavements, granite pavements, speed tables and dust control; passive and active traffic management inclusive of traffic signs, road markings, traffic signals and traffic signal controller; Ducts and chambers for the Intelligent transportation systems (ITS) as per the national ITS strategy; street lighting; Surface water drainage collection and disposal system; foul sewer network; hard landscaping and irrigation provision with road crossing ducts; utility services including potable water, electrical, Telecom (Ooredoo) and QAF networks.

Extension of Arab League Street to Temporary Truck Route. The project covers approximately 5km new dual 3-lane carriageway road as part of extension of Arab League street to connect to existing temporary truck route (TTR), around 5km new service road with parking, 3 traffic signals and 1 roundabout on temporary truck route (TTR).

Roads and Infrastructure in Rawdat Abal Heeran MMUP Phase 2 Package 8 (DW015 - Package 1). The project works are located on the western periphery of Doha, north of Al Sailiya Road, in the municipality of Al Rayyan, in Zone 53. Package 1 is approximately 313 hectares in size and consist of approximately 39.45km of road and associated infrastructure in the residential area of Muaither. The project comprises the construction of the roads / infrastructure works including site clearance, site access and traffic management, road signs and road markings, earthworks, preparation to road foundation, granular sub-base, road pavement works, kerbing works, footpaths and paved areas, street and public realm lighting, Intelligent Transport System (ITS), surface water drainage works, sewerage works, Treated Sewerage Effluent (TSE), landscaping and irrigation works, and provisions (pit and duct or similar) for future public utility services namely: water, electricity, telephone and security / CCTV.

PROJECT PROFILE OWNER/CLIENT VALUE (QAR MILLIONS)

Construction of Upgrade of Al Rayyan Road/Jassim Bin Mohammed Street. The project comprises the reconstruction of Al Rayyan Road between the Al Diwan Street junction and the Jassim Bin Mohammed Street tying into Souk Qaqif access. The works also includethe construction and upgrading of Jassim Bin Mohammed Street from a point south of the Corniche Roundabout to the Wadi Musheireb Street at the south end. New signaiized junctions are provided, upgrading of underground services and installation of natural stone carriage ways in specified sections and footpaths.


Development of Main Roads in Zone 46. The project comprises the reconstruction of the Najma Road extension starting about 200m south of the junction with the E Ring Road to just before the F Ring. The Road is specified as a District Distributor with 1.3km in length and 64m corridor and will provide access to Zone 46, with more than 2100 planned housing allotments. The work also includes the interface with E Ring Road (West of Najma) with the project and construction of main roads as well as internal roads. Also included in the works is the re-design and construction of road E01 (including intersections) and design and build of pumping stations and associated rising main.


Development of Roads in North Khalifa and Markhiya in Zones 32 & 33. The project comprises the construction of roads and infrastructure works, occupying an approximate total area of 376 hectares which includes but not limited to surface drainage works, earthworks, granular sub-base, asphalt works, kerbing works, traffic signs and road markings, and public utility services.

Al Kharaitiyat and Surrounding Districts – Package 01 TSE Sewer Tunnels (DN060-P01). The project covers the construction of strategic treatment sewerage Effluent (TSE) supply pipelines in Al Kharaitiyat and the surrounding districts.


Infrastructure FS Gap Mall of Qatar Area and Celebration Road Foul Sewer-Package 05. The project covers installation of trunk sewer line with various pipe diameters using micro tunnelling techniques; installation of shallow sewer lines with various pipe diameters using open cut method; providing connection to the existing manholes; providing adequate Traffic Management Plans during construction works; providing necessary Health & Safety documents; interface with DN110-P02 Contractor, DN117 P02 Contractor and PWA O&M; and traffic maintenance.
