Soothing linear lighting and medical supply system for healthy results: homely, efficient and easy to clean.
Pureline
-
Patients expect a high level of
dedication, convenience and
precision. This applies to doc-
tors, nurses and carers, not to
mention medical facilities.
There are no crash tests or
official 5-star categories for
hospitals and health-care
establishments. Despite this,
Zumtobel systems have
proved their performance
capabilities again and again.
They have to meet a wide
variety of visual requirements
as well as achieve extremely

-
high scores in terms of emo-
tional and biological effective-
ness – in order to protect
patients and speed up recove-
ry processes. And in order to
make the care staff’s work
easier. PURELINE is an archi-
tecturally purist light and medi-
cal supply unit that manages an
elegant balancing act between
homely comfort and perceived
quality, between therapeutic
success and economic cons-
traints.

* On the basis of a Quality Management System according to ISO 9001 and ISO 13485, these medical supply units meet the requirements of EU Directive 93/42/EEC and the Medical Devices Directive as (Class IIb) medical devices.

The lighting concept can lend
a room a cosy feel, especially
in medically used areas where
architecture and equipment
have to fulfil a large number of
functional tasks.
PURELINE integrates the light
ing and medical supply unit into
the architecture as a horizontal
axis, producing a lighting effect
that does everyone involved
good – a lighting effect that can
be adjusted to an extremely
wide variety of situations and
tasks, creates pools of light,
provides accent lighting and
never overlooks one important
factor: the need for economy
through maximum energy effi
ciency. PURELINE meets the
most exacting human, economic
and ecological requirements.
Pureline Design with innate values
-
“PURELINE – reduced in its
dimensions and form to a
minimum, yet in its function
extended far beyond what is
usual – builds a bridge to a
space-creating design element,
which in its purity and formal
elegance opens up new possibi-
lities of interior design.”

Top marks for lighting quality A beneficial combination of several light sources
Whether at the patient’s instiga
tion, brought about by the staff
or unexpectedly quickly – as
soon as the situation in the care
room changes, PURELINE can
respond by changing its appea
rance. Extremely diverse lighting
requirements ranging from daily
ward rounds through to every
day activities such as reading,
eating or communicating can be
catered for by finely coordinated
combinations of indirect room
light and direct accent lighting.
At the same time, its unique
compact system channel means
that PURELINE is a medical
supply unit, almost without
anyone noticing.
Subdued night light PURELINE can be fitted with a
5 W compact fluorescent lamp
in order to make it easier for
care staff and patients to find
their way around during the
night.
“The right amount of the right
light at the right time.”
Le Corbusier
Ideal reading lighting: At night, patients in adjacent beds can sleep soundly without being bothered by stray light.
Reading lighting The reading light, which can be
adjusted as a standard feature
of the luminaire module, can be
perfectly arranged to suit the
patient’s bed, enabling the
designer to make fine adjust
ments during the installation
phase. Lighting scenes can be
personalised without disturbing
the occupants of adjacent beds.

Examination lighting In the case of doctors’ visits,
examinations and medical treat
ment, glarefree light with high
illuminance and excellent colour
rendition is indispensable.
PURELINE offers ideal visibility
conditions thanks to its well
balanced combination of indirect
room light and controllable
direct light.
General lighting Two slimline T16 lamps are the
frugal energy sources for health
ful ambient lighting with good
visual comfort. Specially desig
ned reflectors guarantee excel
lent light distribution, besides an
outstanding light output ratio.

PURELINE Active has per-
fected the interplay of light and
colour. Soft colours can be
produced on the surfaces of a
room by means of two additio-
nal light sources and special
matching colour filters.
The sequence of lighting scenes
is controlled by a processor.
The light colour and quantity of
light emitted are precisely pre
defined by Colour and Light
Research GmbH and differ only
marginally from everyday
changes in natural daylight.
Sensory stimulation patterned
on natural biological rhythms
is an essential factor for
feeling good and getting well,
especially for bedridden pati
ents. For the first time ever,
PURELINE offers the opportuni
ty of selectively using light and
colour without compromising
the necessary functionality of
lighting.
Pureline ActivePatients confirm that natural daylight should be imitated as the ideal model

five stars for flexibility Freedom of design all the way down the line
Singlebed luminaire
As a visually attractive single
bed luminaire, PURELINE is
bound to impress thanks to its
plain lines, unruffled elegance
and healthful light. For the pati
ent, it brings a note of homeli
ness into the often unfamiliar
environment of the hospital.
Even as a singlebed luminaire,
PURELINE easily meets the
requirements placed on perfect
general, reading, examination
and night lighting. Upgrading to
“Active“ makes it possible to
simulate the changing colours
and intensity of daylight.
Vertical supply unit
As a vertically installed medical
supply unit, PURELINE cuts
quite a dash. Installed alongside
or between patients’ beds, the
required supply connections
converge in a central location,
making them easily accessible.
This enables the vertical supply
unit to work as either a single
bed or twobed solution.
Harmonised in terms of design,
the luminaire and channel are
mutually independent units.
The fact that the system
channel is available in two
versions – for either horizontal
or vertical installation – makes
the PURELINE lighting and
medical supply unit both flexi-
ble and extremely attractive to
designers.
Integral floor-level light: If PURELINE is installed vertically, a slipper light can be unobtrusively fitted – inconspicuous during the day, showing the way at night.
Vertical supply section: combined with individual luminaire, suitable for requirements up to inter-mediate care level.
