3 ON CAMPUS YOU WILL AUDITION WITHTHE FOLLOWING ITEMS:
GOLDEN GIRL
SILVER TWINS
GIRL-IN-BLACK
ALL-AMERICANTWIRLING TEAM
This elite solo twirler was created in 1954, as the counterpart to
Purdue’s Golden Boy, quarterback Lenny Dawson. She embodies the Boilermaker spirit and is an
ambassador while performing at Purdue and in the community.
This dazzling duo adds a splash of silver to the band. They specialize
in coordinated or mirrored routines, as their goal is to work
completely in tandem.
A reporter once said, “Who is that girl in black?” and a tradition was born. Originally named the International twirler in 1962, the Girl-in-Black is a complement to the Golden Girl, as a solo twirler
with superior talent.
This team originated from the majorette line, the first women
to join the band in 1939. They are featured through synchronization
and intricate exchanges.
