2. 2Proverbs 25:15 By long forbearing is a princepersuaded, and a soft tongue breaketh the bone.(NIV) 15 Through patience a ruler can bepersuaded, and a gentle tongue can break a bone.Patience and gentle words are far moreeffective means of persuasion,Than losing your temper and harsh words. 3. This kind of angry words will start a fight, but3they end with nothing accomplished.There is no persuasion going on. 4. 16 Hast thou found honey? eat so much as issufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith, andvomit it. 17 Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbor'shouse; lest he be weary of thee, and so hate thee.4These two verses go together:Too much honey will make you sick, and too muchtime at your neighbors house will make him sick.God is the exception to this.He wants us to come to Him,the more often the better. 5. Overdoing anything can create problems.Philippians 4 5 Let your moderation be known untoall men. The Lord is at hand.5Temperance, which is self-restraint, isproduced in us by the Holy Spirit.We can live a life of godly moderation. 6. 6Temperance 7. 18 A man that beareth false witness against hisneighbor is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow.7Again and again we are admonished to behonest and straight-forward.Dont lie about anything, but especially donttell lies on someone.Hurtful! 8. 819 Confidence in an unfaithful man in time oftrouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out ofjoint.1 Corinthians 1 9 God is faithful, by Whom yewere called unto the fellowship of His Son JesusChrist our Lord.We are His children; let us be faithful. 9. 920 As he that taketh away agarment in cold weather, andas vinegar upon nitre, so is hethat singeth songs to an heavyheart.Romans 12 15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice,and weep with them that weep. 10. 21 If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat;and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink: 22 Forthou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and theLORD shall reward thee.Sometimes a persons fire went out and he neededto borrow some live coals to restart his fire.
