What is protein???
Proteins are essential for nearly all body cells. It is necessary for the
development and repair of bone, muscle, skin, and blood.
Protein is also known as “body builders”.
Next to water, protein is the most abundant substances in the human body.
What is protein???
Protein is also the key element of antibodies that protect us from diseases.
Protein helps the transportation of iron, oxygen, and nutrients to all body cells.
Also is used as energy to cells when fats and carbohydrates are not available.

Protein Structure
Protein gets broken down into what we call Amino Acids. There are 20 total
amino acids Body makes 11 The other 9 amino
acids must come from your diet.
These are called “essential” amino acids.

5. The students will be able to correctly identify weather the piece of food in the picture is an incomplete or complete protein.
6. The students will show appropriate behavior towards their classmates and teachers throughout the entire class period.
