PROJECT OVERVIEW ESL Students will collaboratively create a design
theme and an implementation plan for a mural celebrating pride in diversity and their unique culture while promoting their connectedness in the multiple communities within which they participate, e.g., cultural, school, neighborhood, etc.
PROJECT OUTCOMES
During the process, students will confront and answer questions such as: Why is this mural important? What kinds of things symbolically represent the
ideas students want to portray about themselves and their culture?
What are the benefits of doing something like this?
How would their mural design address mutual understanding and tolerance?
How would it improve sense of community and promote diversity as a good thing?
