In economics, inflation is a rise in the general level of prices of goods
and services in an economy over a period of time.

Unemployment (or joblessness), as defined by the International Labour
Organization, occurs when people are without jobs and they have actively
looked for work within the past four weeks

Poverty is the state of one who lacks a certain amount of material possessions or
money. Absolute poverty or destitution refers to being unable to afford basic
human needs, which commonly includes clean and fresh water, nutrition, health
care, education, clothing and shelter.

An energy crisis is any great bottleneck (or price rise) in the supply of energy
resources to an economy.

In economics, a recession is a business cycle contraction, a general slowdown
in economic activity.
During recessions, many macroeconomic indicators such as Production, Gross
Domestic Product (GDP), employment, investment spending, capacity utilization,
household incomes, business profits, and inflation all fall, while the
unemployment rate rise.

The term financial crisis is applied broadly to a variety of situations in
which some financial institutions or assets suddenly lose a large part of
their value. In the 19th and early 20th centuries, many financial crises
were associated with banking panics, and many recessions coincided
with these panics

Terrorism is the systematic use of terror, especially as a means of coercion.
In the international community, however, terrorism has no universally
agreed, legally binding, criminal law definition.
Common definitions of terrorism refer only to those violent acts which are
intended to create fear (terror), are perpetrated for a religious, political or
ideological goal, and deliberately target or disregard the safety of non-
combatants (civilians).

Global warming is the continuing rise in the average temperature of Earth's
atmosphere and oceans and it is caused by human activities that increase
concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, such as deforestation
and burning of fossil fuels.

13. Global Financial Crisis
The late-2000s financial crisis (often called the Credit Crunch or the Global
Financial Crisis) is considered by many economists to be the worst financial crisis
since the Great Depression of the 1930s.
It resulted in the collapse of large financial institutions, the bailout of banks by
national governments, and downturns in stock markets around the world.
