Hello Everyone, I hope this finds you and your family keeping safe and well and managing as best you can under the trying circumstances we are in. The school staff and I look forward to continuing to work closely with you to ensure your children’s continuity of learning and positive wellbeing this term.
As we are now back to school full time, let me thank everyone and say welcome back to our wonderful students. Their warmth, enthusiasm and excitement to be back has created a great positive vibe around the playground. It is encouraging to see that COVID-19 infections seem to be remaining low and our hope is that as this continues we will see the lifting of some of the restrictions that will then allow us to restart co-curricular activities such as assemblies and possibly even excursions in the future. These are things that add fun to, and enhance learning, and allow students to pursue their passions and dreams. As we start the return to normality there are still many people with worries and anxiety about the future. For some it has been an opportunity to reflect on what is important, whilst others have embraced the opportunity to learn new things. Many young people may be excited at the prospect of restrictions being lifted; others may feel mixed emotions. Reactions will differ depending on how well they cope with stress and change. Keeping a check on your child’s mental health and wellbeing as they adjust to new routines, will be vitally important. Please make contact with the school if you are concerned about your child in this regard. For the remainder of the term; that is with the next 5 weeks in mind, we will be conducting every class according to the timetabled program, and with the best hygiene practices in place. We must all however still take care and be cautious. Welcome Back!

In this time when we have had to adapt so much to change we too have been looking at ways of being innovative and creative by making some changes. A very important component of School life are our Assemblies. A chance to share news, achievements and relay important messages. On Tuesday 26th May we launched our first whole school assembly via Adobe Connect to hundreds of students and staff in classrooms across the school. We are enjoying this way of connecting and staying informed and would like thank all those who work behind the scenes to make this happen.
Our delayed Anzac Day service was attended by all students and staff during our virtual assembly this week. The Last Post was played and a one minute silence was observed by all to reflect upon the sacrifice of our service men and women past and present. Lest we forget.

@ SRHS For a little bit of fun our wonderful TAS teacher Ms Agostinto organised a cooking competition between staff at SRHS, the ultimate prize was bragging rights to see who’s kitchen rules. There were so many amazing entries it was a tough decision to narrow down the top three and they all looked delicious. The winners are posted at the bottom of the page.
In first place Ms Prior De Heer with her scrumptious and beautifully photographed creation. Lamb Shanks with Lentils.
Coming in a close second place was Ms Radkewicz, with her Chicken, Leek and Bacon Pie.
And finally in equal third place was Shakshuka (baked eggs) prepared by Ms Agostino and Charcoal Flavoured Bread, lovingly prepared by Ms Scambary.
