• Hammer Films also produces films as well as distributing them. The company is renowned for its traditional gothic horror films. They are synonymous with horror films after defining the genre in Britain with classics such as Dracula, The Curse of Frankenstein and The Mummy. However, only ⅓ of Hammer films were horror as they tackled other genres such a sci-fi. Recent output includes the worldwide box office smash The Woman in Black, critically acclaimed Let Me In, and 2014 paranormal thriller The Quiet Ones.

● Lions Gate are a company that produce films as well as distribute them. The genre that feature in their work most often is horror. They have distributed films such as The cabin in The Woods and The Last Exorcism. By November 2013 they were named the most commercially successful mini major film and television distribution company in North America and the seventh most profitable movie studio

Exhibition Companies

Film exhibition companies tend to feature in the public screening of the films. These companies sell the experience of the film as a whole rather than the actual film by itself. The have no direct input into creating and producing the film, they

just literally exhibit the film.
