n A client is a self-contained organizational unit in the R3 System Clients have their own dataenvironment and therefore their own user master and transaction data assigned user master records and

chart of accounts and specific Customizing parameters

n Users of different clients coexist independently and isolated in the same R3 System Users can only see

or process data in a client for which they have authorization

This isolation specification is fixed in the design of the R3 tables as well as at the level of the

application tables and in the Customizing tables

(Customizing = Adjusting the R3 System to users individual requirements)

n Client 000 is defined as an SAP standard and must not be changed by customers You can use this client

as a template for additional clients that you want to create

n The R3 System is a client system With the client concept you can control several separate enterprises

at the same time in one R3 System Each user session only accesses data on the client that you selected

when you logged on

n So that you can log onto the R3 System you must have a user master record created for you for the

corresponding client

n For reasons of access protection you must enter a password when you log onto the R3 System The

system does not display the password that you enter

n The R3 System is multilingual The default language is EN (English) Enter DE if you want to display

the user interface in German for example

n A client is a self-contained organizational unit in the R3 System Clients have their own dataenvironment and therefore their own user master and transaction data assigned user master records and

chart of accounts and specific Customizing parameters

n Users of different clients coexist independently and isolated in the same R3 System Users can only see

or process data in a client for which they have authorization

This isolation specification is fixed in the design of the R3 tables as well as at the level of the

application tables and in the Customizing tables

(Customizing = Adjusting the R3 System to users individual requirements)

n Client 000 is defined as an SAP standard and must not be changed by customers You can use this client

as a template for additional clients that you want to create

n You can freely define up to 997 clients

n A client is a self-contained organizational unit in the R3 System Clients have their own dataenvironment and therefore their own user master and transaction data assigned user master records and

chart of accounts and specific Customizing parameters

n Users of different clients coexist independently and isolated in the same R3 System Users can only see

or process data in a client for which they have authorization

This isolation specification is fixed in the design of the R3 tables as well as at the level of the

application tables and in the Customizing tables

(Customizing = Adjusting the R3 System to users individual requirements)

n Client 000 is defined as an SAP standard and must not be changed by customers You can use this client

as a template for additional clients that you want to create
