Dear Parents

I’d like to thank Deb Thomas for her

contribution to the school and community.

Deb begins her maternity leave after today

and we wish her all the best for her next

adventure.

Mr Roy Mitchell has been in the school for the

last week transitioning with the year 1 class.

Roy is more than happy to be back. It is a real

reflection of the history of the schools

innovative culture and management of

student wellbeing that previous students have

first chosen the craft of teaching and then

have a strong desire to return to where they

were educated as young people.

Thanks to all the parents who came to school

on Monday morning for our Kindy Orientation

parent information session. Thanks to

teachers Bu Anna, Bu Emma, School

Counsellor Sandi Hills, P and C President

Gretchen Highfield and Canteen Manager

Toni Jones, who all combined together to

impart knowledge about our beautiful school

and its activities. A great morning was

enjoyed by all.

A huge thank you to the 2/3 class under the

guidance of Bu Brooke and Miss B who have

come up with a roster to keep all of us on

track with the managing of all of the different

garden activities. We had another successful

garden harvest sale on Thursday, which

included eggs from our chooks, cabbage,

lettuce, spinach and mint.

This is the amazing, talented FLL team called

Agile Assassins. The team includes Lilly Pacey,

Elliot Joyce, Ben Doyle, Jamie Fox Morrison,

Koby Hanham (reserve), Zach Pacey, Joe Young,

Wulaaran Walker, India Stephens, Persia

Raines, Jack Peachman. Today we worked

through what the expectations are and came up

with a few ideas for fundraising for the team.

Thanks to TAFE for building the table, you did an

amazing job.

Each week 2/3 are creating a school notice

board with all the fun and exciting spring jobs

around the school.

Garden—This week we have planted capsicum,

cucumber and lettuce seedlings and harvested

and sold spinach, cabbages and cauliflower.

Chooks—In the chook pen we have a visiting

mother hen with 5 babies.

Seedlings—We are germinating corn, capsicums,

native ginger and blue lilly pilly seeds.

Its starting to feel like a school organic farm with

many farmers working as a team.

Parent Information -reminders

Macksville High School (MHS) Year 6-7 Transition

There will be a parent information evening and school tour at 5pm on Tuesday

24/11/15 for parents of year 6 students. Parents to meet at the front gate at

MHS. There will also be an orientation day on Wednesday 3/12/15 for all year

6 students who are fully enrolled to attend MHS in 2016. Students are able to

travel on school buses for no cost, contact bus company for more info if

required. Students to wear school uniform and bring a water bottle hat and

recess (BBQ lunch provided)

Supported Playgroup 2016

Playgroup is coming back to the school! In 2016 a supported playgroup with an

Early Childhood Worker will be running each Wednesday morning between 9-

11am at the school out of the LLLCC. A Playgroup information and activity

session for parents/carers will be happening on Wednesday the 11th of

November at the school. Please can you pass this message around to new

young families as we are very lucky to have the experience of local resident

Early Childhood Specialist Edwina (Eddie) Dangar to be the facilitator of the

NRL Program—Tuesdays
