Next General Membership Meeting August 10, 2011

Minutes to the July 13, 2011 General Membership Meeting

The General Meeting was held at the Sunrise Café. Those in attendance were, Mel Gahley, Janet Alcott, Butch Mowdy, John Lindley, Jamey Robbins, Donna Bernardelli, Anita Stephan, Duane & Donna Staack, Linda Murray, Shawn Charters, Zane Charters, Brianne Charters and Andrea Mowdy. A motion was made by John Lindley and seconded by Butch Mowdy to approve the minutes of the June Meeting as mailed in the newsletter. Motion passed. Treasurer’s Report: Marnie was not able to attend the meeting but sent a report which Andrea read. Balance in the checking account is $8,730.97; balance in the scholarship account is $1,972.10. The only outstanding bills at this time are bucks bags and trophy. A motion was made and seconded Mel/Shawn to accept the Treasurer’s Report. Motion passed. A motion was made and seconded Mel/Donna B. to authorize $600 be allocated to Wade for the Fall Doublepoint Show. Motion passed. John Lindley reported that the Fall Doublepoint showbill has been finished and will be approved soon. It will be posted on the website as soon as it is approved. Awards Committee: It was reported that the bags are being printed and the sweatshirts have been ordered. Rules Committee – No Report Old Business – None New Business: A comment was made that all shows need to make sure they have an ISHSA Delegate assigned. Due to the Wednesday night Bennu show, the next meeting has been moved to August 10th at Sunrise Café in Middleton. A motion was made and seconded (Gahley/Robbins) to close the meeting.

Now that the EHV virus outbreak has died down, the ISHSA show season is in full swing. From now on out there is a show scheduled for almost every weekend. It is how time to get your horses out and start earning those year end points. This month we have the following shows scheduled: August 6, IPHC Two Judge APHA & ISHSA Approved Show, Al Birt Arena. Judge: Michael Short and Nancy Wright. August 7, IPHC Get Ready For Fair Clinic, Al Birt Arena, Conducted by Michael Short and Nancy Wright. August 13-14, Silver Spurs Trophy, Buckle and Saddle Show, Idaho Horse Park. AQHA, ApHC, APHA and ISHSA Approved. Happy Showing.

ANNOUNCEMENTS Silvers Spurs Update "The 6th Annual Silver Spurs Trophy, Buckles and Saddles Invitational Horse Show" is a week away!! Please be sure to get your stalls and RV spaces reserved at www.idahohorsepark.com. Stalls are only $19 per night. Also, please get pre-registered with Anita Stephan. Entry forms, high point forms and class lists can be found on our website,www.silverspurs4h.com. - Remember, the show is ISHSA approved and starts at 7am both days. We also

are offering Registered Quarter Horse, Registered Appaloosa Horse and Registered Paint Horse classes, in addition to 4-H members only classes. Several high point awards will be given away on Sunday afternoon, including 4 silver show saddles and 19 High Point silver buckles.

Congratulations: Idaho State Horse Show Association would like to congratulate Tim Phillips on being named Reserve World Champion at the ABRA World Championship Show in the 2 year Old Western Pleasure Futurity!!! Congratulations Tim!!!! TNT 4-H Horse Club would like to congratulate the High Point Winners from their Buckle and Trophy Show that was held July 16th. Our High Point In-Hand Award went to Butch Mowdy and Pistol, Our High Point Miniature Horse Award went to Lee Lilley and Hollowtrees Chief Joseph, Our High Point Gaming Award went to Anna Wolverton. Our High Point 19 and over Buckle Winner was Karla Post riding South of Sierra and our High Point 18 and Under Buckle Winner was Charlina Lancaster riding Zip in the Millenium. Congratulations to all for coming out and showing.
